Great day out at ex RAF Bentwaters north east of Ipswich organised by Paul Dunningham of AngleMog with ten Mogs counted. Although the site covers 1000 acres and built by the RAF in 1944 it was later used by the USAF during the cold war. On this occasion we were just visiting the Power of the Past museum which encompases tractors, farm machinery, cars and trucks, steam engines interspersed by many dressed manequins. First building housed solely lend lease tractors from the USA covering both world wars. Most seemed to be in running condition as demonstrated by Bill the owner.

Next up farm machinery. This mural has the horse placed to give an interesting 3D effect with the horses head seemingly following you.

Then more tractors and pre war cars.

Plowing via cable from steam and early IC engines of massive proportions.

Just the thing to keep the neighbours under control innocent

Bill finalised the visit leading us in Mogs on a tour of the park which being so large took a while as we passed cold war blast proof hangers. A thoroughly enjoyable day although less so on the journey home with biblical rain at times umbrella

Although I had been before the collection is so vast and varied this second visit was most welcome. Thanks to Paul and Bill.

Yes a good day out as always & thanks to the Dunnighams. Sadly the weather broke but the CX didnt leak (till now).
I gave a lift on the round the air field run to the Lady TheMorganeer who enjoyed the comfort but maybe not the speed or sports pluss exhaust.

The lack of Elf & Safety was interesting also

Update: some good news on the "possibly sagging springs". I duly gave the rear springs a super treatment withACF-50 and left the car alone for a week. Driving today there was a marked improvement in both the ride and apparent stance of the car at the rear. As far as I can tell, the "annual scheduled maintenance service and safety inspection" by a (fairly) local marque specialist in August last year didn't mention lubricating the rears springs.

Peter, I used a motorbike chain lube aerosol. It goes on easily and penetrates before thickening. Easy enough to do once a year.

Good tip, thanks. What's the science as to why aerosols don't work upside down ? (as in, trying to lube the springs from above).

Isn't this the same reason that pump action detailers don't work upside down? The feeder tube reaches the bottom, so inverted, the feeder tube is in the propellant but no product. For pump action applicators the feeder tube is in "fresh air".

Exactly you are relying on the gas expanding as the valve opens that pushes the liquid up the pipe, Inverted you just spray gas. I always turn paint / waxoyl aerosols upside down & give quick squirt to clear the nozzle before putting them away.

Very unusually it is I who is typing to get back on the title of this thread.... (-:
Just enjoyed an anti clockwise evening run round the Trossachs in the old +8, almost had the place to myself, what`s more to want.. ? Rain threatened with spots on the windscreen as I headed out, and to my surprise I passed another Morgan coming in the opposite direction through Croftamie they had to hood up so flashed the headlights, whereas I waved above the screen.... I suspect they may have been through more rain than than I, as a few miles further on the roads were a tad damp...
