Nice run out with the GEG to the Rumburgh Buck for lunch. Back roads both ways avoiding the A12 if possible as the Latitude festival traffic seems to be building already.

Not if there is a tree above the car dripping sap, bits & bird dermot
One guy in the pub was ecstatic at seeing red morgans as he always wanted one. I filled the car before going home and th lady at the till was also very pleased to see such a "gorgeous car"

First run with sidescreens off today & enjoyed it very much. I do miss not having a tonneau though.

Out for a bimble over Exmoor for 4 hours before the tidal wave of tourists descend on us this afternoon via the M5. Headed into Minehead, then out on the A39 to Porlock and up Porlock hill and along the coast to Lynton and Lynmouth, stopped in the car park overlooking Lorna Doon valley at the top of Countisbury hill but the little cafe was closed, on again and dropped down into Lynmouth but did not stop as a few tourists were gathering, up and out via Lynton on the B3234 and rejoined the A39 to Blackmoor gate, turned left toward South Molton on the A399 and then after a few miles left again onto the B3358 to Simonsbath. Intended to stop at the Black Venus inn at Challacombe (16th centrury pub) but it was now lunch time and busy, the regulars had beaten us to it, so onward to Simonsbath and a stop for tea at the recently re-opened tea shop, onward once more via the B3223/B3224 to Weddon cross. Turned left at Weddon Cross onto the A396 to Dunster past its fine castle and finally back onto the A39 and home.. Its a nice gentle 3-4 hr circular drive with a tea stop, its mostly good driving roads, the B roads over Exmoor are a joy for views and mostly not populated too much by tourists. If you ever come this way the roads over Exmoor were made for a morgan.. better still in Spring and Autumn.

First service today. 100 miles each way to the dealer. 7k miles in year 1. Two extra jobs done at the same time. Grill re-fixed as the top was loose. Rear hubs greased to cure a low speed clunk. MMC fix using graphite grease. Journey there was ok with the only traffic delay on the Severn Bridge. Passing Bristol was easy. Roadworks cleared. While there I took a photo of a couple with a Plus Six they had just bought. Nice looking car. In the showroom they had an identical new car to mine, paint, leather, stitching etc. the white Plus Six with black hardtop is still there! It was there a year ago when I bought my Plus Four.
Return journey.....twice as long due to westbound traffic with congestion at the usual places. At Port Talbot I left the M4 and drove through the town centre to avoid the motorway congestion. A good move! From Williams I was tempted to head north towards Gloucester, then across to Abergavenny, A40 or Heads of Valleys. I migh5 have got home sooner that route! The aircon was nice, blowing cool air whilst on stop or crawling on the motorway.
Nice day despite the traffic and a lighter wallet!

We used to spend time on Exmoor quite regularly. Lovely area and as Dave says plenty of nice roads! smile
