The covers on our 1990 plus 4 are badly faded are these still available to purchase. Or has anyone have a set to sell after changing their dash.

Sorry but not the ones I need. Thanks for the advice but I would like to keep the original fitted type. They are just a push in cover so if not successful in obtaining a set will attempt to refurbish them .Lucas must have made thousands of them but were have they gone as I cannot find any for sale on the internet.

I do remember the litle covers, as on my (late lamented) 1961 TVR Grantura, they probably came in e.g. red, green, yellow, blue, clear. MIne were round, like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363702440889, but maybe I have misunderstood, do you mean the rectangular ones ?

Many thanks to you all who replied to my request. Peter put me back to Charlesworthmouldings were I had overlooked his listing for Morgan cars as he did not have a photo of these. Sorry Jon but at 82 I do not have the skills to put up a photo of these rectangular warning units. However Melvyn Rutter has a 1991 plus 8 for sale on line which shows these warning light units. As I also have to replace my tired alternator I will ask Melvyn for advice. No charging problems with the alternator but bearings are noisy but at 180,000 miles I cannot grumble. Perhaps I could get the unit rebuilt with new bearings but at the price from Melvyn and the 3 year warranty on the unit may end up the same price. Never a dull moment owning a Morgan. I felt sure that people modifying their dash and panel lights would have these units lying on a shelf in the garage.

Those Charlesworth lights can be pulled from the dash and the bulb unit disconnected. It is fiddly but possible to remove the clear symbol front that covers the coloured panel and may be possble to clean up both surfaces and clip back in. A pointed scalpel is the best tool. Worth a try as replacing the lot is expensive.

Just to report that after removing the 5 units and given them a good clean using Merr polish on the lens I managed to improve their condition. I did contact Mark at Melvyn Rutter's who did not have any used ones in stock. I also asked about a replacement alternator for the car but alas he informed me that a similar plus 4 had to have their unit sent back to them to be rebuilt and they did not have this unit in stock. Another thing was I tried to get a new oil filter from my local moto factors to find the cars registration was not on their computer system. I tried another larger company with no joy until I suggested he try 1990 Rover 820 Si . This came up with no problem as our Morgan used the same engine. For those with this M16 twin cam unit the filter is MANN W713/28 which had the important none return valve for OHC engines to prevent oil back draining from the cams and hydraulic tappets .I am not sure about the T16 engine. Now to find a local company to have a look at the alternator. Thanks to all who replied.
