Looks great. I agree the MGB mirror looks very nice and old school. Plus as you say you can move it up and down to get the best view.

How did you fit the top bracket? It looks glued on which I expect is the same as the stock Morgan rear view mirror.

On the MGB the top bracket was originally riveted to the header rail, this is not possible on a Morgan so I cut the heads of the rivets supplied with the bracket and bonded them in to close the holes.



I then very carefully cleaned both the screen and bracket with thinners before bonding it to the screen, perfect cleanliness and using the correct mirror bonding adhesive are key to achieving a strong and permanent bond.

It's worth keeping in mind that for many years most rear view mirrors have been bonded to the screen like this so it does work, if the OP is having issues it'll be because he hasn't cleaned the glass & mirror arm where it bonds to the glass well enough, you really need to get it right first time or you'll be battling with trying to remove the old adhesive from the previous failed attempt, taking your time to thoroughly clean both faces to get the perfect bond first time is the answer.

The bottom bracket is simply firmly screwed into the ash frame that forms the dash top.



I then used chrome screw finisher caps designed for domestic bathroom mirrors just to neaten up the job, being screwed into the ash frame the bottom mount is very firmly mounted, this supports the boded top mount so the whole setup is very strong.

Anyone looking to replicate the idea will need to source the MGB rod and both brackets, but will also need to shorten the rod so it fits their Morgan. This necessitates extending the thread on the rod with an appropriate dia nut so you have sufficient thread to build up the assembly to the exact length required before fitting, and without putting the top bracket under excessive load.

I've run this MGB mirror and rod arrangement for two years now without any issues at all, it's firmly mounted, works well with or without luggage on the rack, and I also feel it also looks period correct.

I used the MGB system but bought stainless rod and cut threads at each end. I then used the sun visor mountings to provide the top mounting and glued a mounting bush to the screen for the lower mount. And taking these pictures reminds me that the whole assembly needs a good clean. It has remained happily in place for a good 10,000 miles or so.
