On my last car I made my own and I. Thinking about doing the same for this one too, 2012 +4. I’ve seen that mounting lugs were introduced at some point. Does anyone know when they were introduced?

According to this Mogparts page in 1960 - if those two fixing devices at the top of the grill are the lugs you mean.
