Mirror has fallen off again. Tried so called mirror glues and double sided tape. What do people use to keep mirror stuck to window? strong enough that when my better half adjusts the mirror it does not fall off? The mirror is quite stiff so it does not take much for it to fall off.

I found buying it from a Morgan dealer was best. However it really does need to be spotlessly clean and no traces of glue whatsoever. then wiped with alcohol on all surfaces first

The best solution is to buy the mirror mount and adhesive kit. You do need to work on your mirror universal adjuster though. Don't know which mirror you have, if it's the standard fit black plastic jobbie then I'd suggest you bin it, firstly it's horrible and grossly large so if you're replacing for the stainless steel option have a look at Librands. You'll find there are two versions, a large and a small, IMHO the small is far the best as it doesn't restrict forward vision and you can only really see out between the two headrests, different perhaps if no headrests fitted but a personal choice!

My Plus 8 has a "tie bar" in the middle of the windscreen and the mirror is attached to that. I assume it's an aftermarket item ? Works well.

The round door mirrors are surprisingly good, again I'm assuming they're an upgrade ?

I changed the fitting on mine as I had similar problems - but not much help to you !

I have known people to call in at their local 'Autowindscreens' or similar and , for the price of a pint, they will re-affix using their much stronger, industrial adhesive.

Maybe worth a try......?

Stating the obvious...BUT you must remove every trace of old adhesive with a very sharp blade and solvent, the 'screen is easy, but concentrate on the mirror leg, then my secret to a pukka lasting bond is to call in at your local commercial replacement co, eg AutoWindcreens, Autoglass, etc and buy some of the pads these lads use as they will stick like sh...and can also resist the vibration Mogs suffer from

Have others noticed that the Morgan rear view mirrors (after the law began requiring them 60 years ago) do not make sense? The view the huge thingies cover is mostly headrests
and your ears. listening So I swapped out the plastic or whatever originals they fit my mogs with for much smaller period-pieces that cover effective viewing area. Rick Bourne
and Rob Wells added them to Brands Hatch decades ago, but pretty much any Morgan supplier will have them. I also swapped in round side mirrors..much smarter viewing area
than what the Factory provided. Be careful. There are also pretty mirror of the same type but much larger. Both below. They fit on most Morgan stock mirror nubs, but they
come with a new one in case.

Yes! Wisely noted. The trick normally is merely to place it well and get that fitting nub on properly, always with a webbing as any nub fit without the webbing on a windscreen has a
high risk of cracking it. Let it dry (a few minutes) And then be very careful to hold the nub solidly as you slip the mirror on. IMHO, it is not vibration. IMHO Plastic and safety
glass do not expand/contract at the same rate.
But I am willing to be wrong and as long as we both use it and it works, who cares about the reasons?!

Interestingly, my 2003 model goes through MOT without screen affixed rearview mirror. Seems the side mirrors are adequate. I carry a small suction mount device in the glove department, in case of stoppages or disagreements. I did buy a nifty small classic r/v mirror from car builder solutions for a few quid when I replaced my windscreen, which I'm sure I'll come across eventually innocent

Mirror requirements are simple - two, one on driver's side, the other can be either centre (as in windscreen) or on passenger side.

Slightly different idea from me, I went with an early MGB rear view mirror partly to follow my backdating theme and partly to follow Monty's brass/gold on green aesthetic.

These are available new from all MG parts specialists and are nice quality.

I did need to source new/old stock chrome top and bottom brackets and shorten the rod, but once fitted in my opinion the setup really looks the part in the back dated club racer themed Monty.

It's practical too, while I prefer the old school look of a low mounted rear view mirror there's no denying a high mounted mirror helps visibility if I'm carrying luggage on Monty's rack, but because the early MGB mirror is rod mounted I can simply loosen the nut and slide it up and down the centre rod at will.

And the MGB fittings are chrome, so they add a little classic sparkle sunny

And compliment the Trad Morgan interior perfectly.

I think it works well both from a practical point of view, and aesthetically too love
