In 30 years, I have only known one source that made dampers specifically for Morgan trads. Those were made under David Rutherford's (a legendary suspension guru) instructions
at AVO and sold only under his distribution and then that of Four Elms after Tim Ayers bought out the rights. After trying many others (SPAX, KONI, GAZ) I use AVOs only, though I
regularly try other dampers out of curiosity.

Since last year, AVO no longer exists but it was revived by another company using some AVO employees. Four Elms is now selling them again under the name of smile "Four
Elms"
. They still come in variants to fit different cars as Morgan trads need different shock lengths at the rear..something other manufacturers seem unaware of. THESE other
shocks are merely best compromise fit among their inhouse respective ranges. If they are the right length and dampening rate, it is a happy coincidence. This explains anomalies
encountered. Tim is a very good man.

Also of interest for me is another Moggie who has also become a star for me. Cain Poulton. Cain is coming up with suspension parts that intrigue me and his reputation
also precedes him, like Tim's. I hope to try his own shockers shortly. More on this coming. As it has been in the last 30 years, I have no commercial connection with anyone.

I know Cain spent a lot of time working with Protech on his performance shocks. Anything Wolf makes is IMHO excellent quality and but / designed by a man with a passion for Mogs & racing.
