I worry for some of the 'legacy' dealers as they were labeled. Hopefully they've got a good spares, repair and servicing side to their business because they don't seem to be selling many cars....!
There are so many cars that have been advertised since last year, and if they happen to be an £80k+ CX car then it becomes an issue.
If they own them outright and have had them for some time they probably can't drop the price to anything like the current market value.
If they're on SOR then perhaps the owners can't or won't take a big hit on the price, but to be fair, they're probably not even getting people looking and making offers so can't even get in to negotiations....🤷🏻‍♂️
It's a combination of good supply, no demand and unrealistic prices.

Idly looking through a classic car site this morning you cant help but be starled by the price differences. For example, a DB9 with 33k miles that has just got to the dizzy heights of £21k. A beautiful hand made car with a real class badge - ok it wont be cheap to service but if you could get it anywhere near that price, who cares? Compare that with the crude and basic Morgan in the advert at £44k !!! On the other hand, an equally crude and basic bih Healey, at POA!!

Thankfully, crude and basic is what drives the old car experience, and the demand. I would imagine that the Healey market is shrinking along with every other crude and basic classic car, and yet reducing prices opens it up to more buyers. The Healey is another classic I never had, but in a different world would be included in my fleet, along with many more never hads. Most would be two seater convertibles. None would be the bloaters pretending to be sports cars from more recent times. grin2

Well Howard you might see our favourite cars as mere Crudités which of course means nothing at all to us country boys grouphug but at least ours are Safe and cheap to insure and have no need to post on a Supercar site of any hue ever as we are happy thumbs

Dave - you are going to upset a lot of Gt Yarmouth inhabitants and fish curers as Bloaters are seen there as a delicacy innocent

Now here is someone with a good grasp on reality Cracking Plus 8 at good price. If I was after one I'd be looking at it right now, the condition of that steel bulkhead is a good sign as is the wing edge folds of dissimilar metals always a galvanic action area, unlike the later Superfom all alloy wings.

Crude and basic maybe but shed loads of fun grin2

Another lovely +8 here for £22k….

https://www.mathewsons.co.uk/auctio...alse&sd=1&pp=48&pn=1&g=1

It seems that +8’s are being hit hard, expect due to the larger engine and potential running costs

I doubt that a few less mpg would bother the majority of potential owners, especially given the very low mileages most cover.

I'm not sure that Plus 8's are any more affected that other models - as per the thread title, some owners/dealers are taking longer than others to align with the market reality.
