I don’t know the circumstances of how it came to be fitted but it was so it’s a part that must be available.
Not sure how helpful the Morgan factory would be perhaps it was an option? Surely others must have it fitted also. There might even be people driving around in 4/4s totally oblivious as to what final drive is installed.

I’m going to my local dealer end of this week I’ll ask to see if they know anything more.

I really appreciate that, Davis. Thanks for checking with your dealer.

Didn't the trackday 4/4 Sport have that diff option? It had the comp belts, roll bar and door circles.Well the black one at Ledgerwoods had door circles. And an extinguisher I recall.

That's the problem, Dave. At the time of the track day 4/4 in 2009, it was a different axle from BTR. The crownwheel was smaller in diameter. For this old axle, there was 1:4.1 and even 1:4.3. Günter Biener (first P4SS and then Babydoll) had this options, as did some 4/4 drivers here on the forum. Lost Simon explained it in a post exactly ca. three years ago that the newer axle from around 2012 or so on with the larger crownwheel in diameter had no alternative transmission, only the 1:3.7 crownwheel.
But I'm still hopeful. Craig (former sand color 4/4) was kind enough to send me a PM that I should ask Richard Thorne about the 1:3.9 diff.

I can’t get to the bottom of why my car has a 3:9 fitted but it does. Dealer said probably speced at point of order but there is nothing in the bill of sale that mentions it but it is recorded in the owners manual tho. Back to to back tests have confirmed this.
I don’t know what else I can do or say to help further.

Thanks for your efforts, Kevin. Anyway, I now know that a 1:3.9 diff exists. I'll try to do some more research on that.
