So it was such a nice day I thought I would get out my new car lift and check over the front suspension on my 2002 4/4. I found only one nipple at the bottom but I was unable to get my gun to locate squarely on it due to it being obstructed by the shock absorber.

Can any Talk Morganeers advise me please? Thank-you.

It is all in the angle of dangle. Angled nipples help as does turning the steering. I fitted a Wolf Performance remote greasing kit which helps.

The gomog.com site has a lot of help and info on greasing.

Looks like it's already been over greased in the past if the bottom spring is anything to go by!

You are best cleaning all that c**p off and checking for wear in the kingpins and bushes.

Excess grease + road grit = abrasive compound

As others have said, clean off excess grease and dirt. Fit a 45 degree angled grease nipple. If it doesn't go in the right direction when tightened, add a little "plumber's tape" around the threads an fit again. Remote greasing is nice (I have it), but you are adding a little more complex mechanical system with possibility of failure. I have had that too. Fixed, but now you know.

Meanwhile, you can loosen the nut holding the damper and pull it a little towards you. That should give you accsess for the time being.

I had exactly the same problem on my car, only on one side though.
Garage installed angled nipple with washer underneath to control direction.
Now I can grease and wipe weekly with ease.

I can't remember who but someone told me that, despite recommendations to the contrary, they regularly used a pressure washer to clean away excess grease and grime. I have done it a couple of times but I did try to cover the disk so that it did not get spattered with grease and in the end I made sure the disk was clean.

Then, of course, there are always Dave's "patented" spring gaiters smile

Highly recommend this inexpensive clip-on style of grease head fitted to flex hose. They are not so picky about having the right angle to attach to nipple, push on with minimal force and seal far better accepting up to 17,000 psi.

Wolf Performance offer these rebound spring covers which are needed to protect their lower steering bearings, but also keep road muck turning grease into grinding paste. They can be supplied and used standalone though.

I too have been pressure washering my front end after every usage for 300,000 kms. I used gaiters for some of the 100,000+ before that. Nary a problem Of
course, like you, I pressure wash my rotors at the washing end as well. I have never heard of anyone from that crowd who has had a problem.. though I have
heard of the brakes becoming fouled after greasing....many times. Owners grease their front ends, properly wait until the grease overflows out, then leave it
there for a sad result. After all, it is going to go somewhere and the rotors are adjacent.

some for a year....despite how cutsie booties look.

With respect to those who promote them, I found they held the traditional kingpin and bushes grinding paste (the combo of grease and road grit) more than
they prevent anything. They also make it more of a hassle to properly clean the area as you must remove the consequently slimy things often. They became
unnecessary 20 years ago, or earlier than that, when the smart people moved to graded hardchromes and the Factory moved to stainless steel (not as good
but better than the earlier ungraded mild steel.

BTW, a few people, from Rutherford 50 years ago and on, have sold cute and effective little lower spring gaiters for decades. I am sure Cain will have some.
Those can be quickly lifted to clean the springs. I can't be bothered with them either.
