I have driven my Morgan through a storm such as you describe but fortunately not for six hours, hod up is no fun, but better than getting drenched. Strangley the hood on my old +8 is keeps most of the rain out rather well.. I do not even like the side-screens in place, though my good lady generally preferred that when she was in the car.. She sold her SLK a few years back as it let water in and the demisting could not keep up in a rainstorm... So it seems Morgans are not alone in lacking the ability to keep the rain out..?

Congratulations, John. If picking up Ozzy is such an adventurous and unforgettable story, then it was a good decision. Have lots of fun with the very beautiful, fiery red classic Morgan.

Its Bank Holiday weekend and with a music festival and fun fair just across the road in Ashton Gardens its manic around here since the sun came out. Went for a short spin but all the local roads are choked with holiday traffic, Sue took a couple of pictures before putting OZZY away. Its a deeper sport red than it appears in the pictures, its been getting a lot of admiring attention.

Never had to use the spare wheel on my old +8, but don`t much like the idea of not having one, as in most modern cars, even ones that may not look modern... (-:
No surprises here when you type of your RED Morgan seemingly getting quite a bit of attention... ENJOY.. (-:

There was a time that having no spare was an anathema to me, hoping that I never had to use it anyway. But I'll take a can of tyreweld and a tyre pump over the prospect of having lay on the floor to place a jack, potential of undoing a recalcitrant spinner and man handling the wheels to be changed anyday, hoping I never have to do either.

I remember the struggle the tyre fitters in a work shop environment had to get the spinners (that tighten onto themselves when driven) off to replace my tyres on the 70th anniversary 4/4..

Taking centrelock wheels off should not be an issue but they do get over tightened, not so much by the oft blamed self tightening action as enthusiastic use of overlong breaker bars. 700mm max length is fine. I carry a slightly modified MG pressed steel one for two eared spinners with me in the car and with a bit of anger and cloth around shaft, it will remove them in the field.

As I typed in 20 years of having a spare available, i fortunately have not had to make use of it, though I suspect I took a bit of a risk in typing that...!!! Yup, tyre repair goo and a compressor seems to be the way to go, perhaps best check the date on the tyre goo, as I think is may degrade with time...?

As for centrelocks, perhaps be grateful your fun car is not a Porsche with centrelocks, there seems to quite an expense in terms of equipment involved should a Porsche owner ever wish to remove a wheel, and where to fit the kit in the car would seem to be an issue..

I did have a puncture many years back on my 911, and the jack collapsed when the wheel was off...but that is just another story....!

Both my 70th 4/4 and the Roadster 4 seater came direct to me following a full service by Morgan main dealers and the wheels when I came to change the tyres shortly afterwards were absolute sods to get off. Which begs the question had they taken the wheels off during the service, as one would have thought they would not have overtightened them. I'll never know.
