Eric Schmidt was one of the original founders of Google in 2001.
He has a depth and breadth of knowledge around how the blocks click together as well as the direction.
If you have an interest in where this is going and potentially subversive it could become this is worth watching (Youttob) Listen to the comments on power consumption and levels of money involved. It is going to make the battery car goldrush look like pocket change.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
Very interesting. It covers an array ( no pun intended) of topics with good insight. Re the power requirements, didn't Ireland turn down a plan by one of the tech giants to build a base there based on the effect on the impact area's power requirements. Is the UK doing enough to create future power needs to be at the front rather than the back? A strategic need that we don't seem to take irrespective of who is in power. Another is the attitudes of various countries. The EU in particular, seems to be regarded as an ostrich bent on maintaining entrenched ideology, France apart. Taiwan? Great hardware but rubbish software...China interested in the hardware? Also an insight into lesser known capabilities and future evolution. One interesting comment, watch it to get the full context....the rich get richer and the poor do what they can. I initially skip-watched but will go back to watch fully. The jargon/acronyms will take some learning though! I used Fortran when in Uni and Office for spreadsheets, presentations, databases etc so I see those as Neanderthal language trying to understand modern multi lingual present day.
I do remember watching on in amazement as young folk adopted the ever increasing facilities provided by digitising their communications with each other, just as even selective Luddites such as I had found the interweb to be so very educational in researching all things Morgan, around the mid 90`s. It seems a great many of the worlds population have swapped either bit by bit or wholeheartedly that which they imagined was their right to privacy, for the convenience of all things digital...?
Just noted that the EU has fined UBER for downloading all data from all it`s area`s of operation to the US.... Who wants to control what and why, I wonder....NOT.
I guess it is all a bit late as to who might use such data and for what purposes, and given that it seems even those who in the past might be expected to have the highest levels of security have suffered leaks enough to undermine anyone`s confidence in...err... almost anything, thus it seems whichever side of any discussion, argument or war you care to choose, you could end up fighting against yourself...?
