John, good result and marital comp, I have such an adapter which is brand new and unused which you are welcome to for a charitable donation of your choice, all I need is a PM with your details  ps I have JBL speakers in my Morgan coupled to the Becker Mexico which I listen to in the garage whilst tinkering, they are a wholesome sound all right.

Hi Craig,
How did you manage to get the wheel securing mount on the sport luggage rack? Did your car come with the tool kit mounted under the parcel shelf over the rear axle or in a bag, and what was included in it eg scissor jack etc.,

How did you manage to get the wheel securing mount on the sport luggage rack? Did your car come with the tool kit mounted under the parcel shelf over the rear axle or in a bag, and what was included in it eg scissor jack etc.,
Thanks. I bought the kit that bolts the wheel on the rack from Williams Automobiles, but I’m not sure if they still sell them. My 4/4 only came with the foam and spinner hammer. Tighten Porsche centrelocks to 440lbs, who depresses the brake if you are on your own? By using your handy ratchet spreader/clamp that you will have to hand, along with all the other kit...? You just place a short plank of wood across the front of the drivers seat with a towel behind the plank to protect the beautifully stitched seat leather and place the other end of the spreader against the brake pedal, and ratchet it up good and tight.... Simples..????? Can't you just tighten fully when wheels are on the ground?

Not having to deal with centre locks, I have not delved into why the process seems to be so complex. and apparently in the case of Porsche the process requires the nut to be tightened fully then loosened back off and then tightened again to the required torque... There are vids on YT where battery operated wheel nut guns can be programmed to carry out the whole process....
As one who does not have a ramp in his garage, Firstly I would try the age old process as you describe John... (-:

I have had centre locks on my Plus8 for 10 years and prior to that 5 years of knock on's on the 4/4 Sport - not a problem if common sense is applied and a scaffold pipe is used to remove them with the wheel chocked. When I see a wheel overtake me it will be time to rethink my straightforward approach

Sue has already found an inexpensive solution to the lack of music in the Plus 4, while I quite enjoyed listening to the pure mechanical backdrop sans music, I knew it would be short lived. We have a blue tooth JBL Flipessential2 speaker coupled to her phone with the speaker placed in the small glove box opening (creating a sound box effect )and now we have both radio and pre-recorded music. We will get a double USB adaptor for the cigarette lighter socket to keep the phone and JBL speaker charged on longer trips. For the money the JBL speaker has a very rich and deep range of surround sound and much better than any sound I've experienced out of standard trad speaker setup. Whilst the speaker is facing you in the glovebox the sound also appears to be coming from behind you as well. Great value speaker for £75, we often use it whilst watching TV saves having a TV soundbar. Need to get a cradle for her phone so I can see the directions when we use it as a sat nav. So I have a 1965 Plus 4 - and much like you, was using a small bluetooth speaker (UE Megaboom) for music. I mounted mine under the dash using a custom 3D printed bracket, and around town at low speeds with the top down, windscreen up, I enjoyed some fine tunes... HOWEVER, I really like driving with the windscreen folded down (my car was fitted by the PO with an aftermarket fold-down windscreen). With the windscreen down, the wind noise was too much for me to hear any music...I have not yet fitted my brooklands screens - not sure if they will help... SO...I went and bought a UE HYPERBOOM - which is BIG and fixed it to the passenger seat with bungee cords secured to the seat belt mounts on the floor. Looks a tad stupid, and I obviously can't take a passenger (but my wife doesn't love driving in the MOG with me...hair issues!), however this thing is loud enough that I can hear the music with the Windscreen folded...

My CX has no audio system or speakers so I fitted this item 190609667757 from ebay. A TECEVO Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker Heavy Bass Powerful Loud for £14.95. It runs off the car USB port & bluetooth from the phone and is hidden under the dash velcroed to the underdash tray.
Works for me for Sat Nag & rock. If noise is needed.
