still the 3,7 will completely humiliate the +4SS on the RING innocent grin2

I see the factory now have details of the new Roadster on their website:
260 bhp
0-62 4.9 secs ( the same as quoted for the mk1)

Just downloaded the flyer for the Roadster. The power's now gone up to 280 bhp, but no increase in acceleration frown2

I guess they don't want to say officially that it's actually faster accelerating than the Aero's, although it could well be...

shocked2

The 0-62 is governed by the gearchange point, and most cars will need a 1st/2nd change in that sprint.
But logically it should be quicker than the Series 1 to 62, by an odd tenth of a second or so.
280bhp sounds better. It was up in the air last September when we were discussing this very thing with the elders at Malvern.

I wonder if the detune from 300 bhp is deliberate? Otherwise they will be generating competition within their own trad (or classic) range ala TVR.

For me, the new Plus 8 is much closer to an Aero Mk5 than a trad. I wonder if the MMC have made an error marketing it as such?

Such an exciting time at MMC with new products it certainly makes it a really tough choice for anyone in the market to buy - nice problem to have though !

Wikipedia has some interesting info regarding output in different installations (from 268-305hp and up to 380 Nm):

The Duratec 37 is a 3.7 L (3721 cc/227 CID) version of the Cyclone V6 intended to power heavier or premium vehicles.
