Today I fitted the rack with sidescreen stowage I got for the car from MMC.
Removing the rear panel by undoing the 6 allen bolts revealed the bracket an adaptor screws into. The adaptor comes in the fixing kit.
But that big black lump on the bracket is foam rubber which made screwing the adaptor in & getting it tight a mission. I opted to cover the adaptor with a cloth and use stilsons plus a bolt to screw it in & then hold the adaptor whilst removing the screw.
Not my favourite way but I didn't want to remove the foam rubber or cut away some of it.

I also cleaned up the paintwork & repainted the missing paint.
I used a thread lock on the allen bolts & the adaptor.

The next 2 shots are the adaptor in place with & then without the bolt that helped me screw it in.
I also treated bare nuts etc with AC50.

I offered the cover up and held it in place with two allen keys whilst doing up the bolts.

I then fixed the rack on the bottom bracket replacing MMCs domed nuts with a stainless nylock M8 nuts in the hope they don't come off.
With the nuts finger tight the rack can then be rotated up and the central allen bolt with washers fitted and all fixings tightened.

You need to take care the bottom of the rack doesn't scratch the paintwork.

The last picture final set up after a test run.

Fiddly but not difficult and probably 1 hr max to fit the rack.

I did also look at how easy it would be to replace the mickey mouse filler cap & decided it would be very difficult.

Nice job, John. Is see you have the double third brakelight which means your PlusFour was originally equipped with a spare wheel! I like your tonneau as well.......! thumbs

I would also be interested in the tonneau. To which points does it have to be attached everywhere?
Logically, the passenger headrest must also be removed.
Sorry for the sid drift

Yes or you can have head rest pockets, but the they come off easily.
There are 3 connectors on the roll pad of the dash all forward of the dash & extra lift a dots on the door & side.
