Coming home the other evening, the sun was for a change extremely bright and even with my darkest sunglasses on, it was still a little un-nerving heading west from the low sun dazzle, and as I live by the west coast I usually finish up heading west to get home. I also find the LED lights dazzle even more in the plain un-tinted windscreens fitted to a Morgan when its not always sensible to wear sunglasses.

Has anyone any experience of having tinted the entire front screen and whether it helped at all at dusk and driving at night? I appreciate there are legal limits of light penetration in the UK. Just wondered has anyone tinted their entire front screen

Up here at high elevation harsh sunlight is a constant issue leading to the main East-West Freeway artery the I70 being closed by the police at certain points because of glare. I don't know the UK regulations but here you are not allowed to tint the whole windscreen (unless you have medical authorization) so we put a tinted strip across the top of the windscreen which helps reduce the glare and gets around that regulation.

You can tint the whole screen but it has to be 75% light penetration for the front screen. It's more relaxed and lower penetration for side front windows and lower again for rear windows. A strip across the top may be an option, but that won't necessarily help with glare from LED headlights.

I don't think so and Sue has just had optical coherence tomography scan (OCT) today and her eyes are perfect, and she was struggling more with the glare than I was. Its this low autumn sun that is causing a few problems We don't have this problem in our other car that has a tinted screen.

I find a baseball cap helps plus I have reactolite glasses

For the LED glare, try the yellow tinted night driving glasses (available inexpensively online and at many motorway service stations and larger petrol stations) - I find them surprisingly good for reducing the glare. If you wear prescription glasses for driving, many are very light and are easily worn over your ordinary specs.

I normally wear vari-focal lenses and have often found the glare from approaching bright headlights an issue.
Someone suggested using my single vision glasses when driving at night.
What a difference! For me, it has been a great improvement.
(Fortunately, none of the cars I usually drive, have a TV like information screen).
I am also going to try the yellow lenses, as suggested by Ken.

I used to keep a pair of yellow lenses for use in my cars that had plain un-tinted glass ,I need to get a pair again and see if that helps. I always wear a long peak baseball cap when driving an open car, it also protects more of your nose from getting burnt.

I tried yellow tinted "driving" glasses. I found them good for fly fishing at dusk where they improved visibility for a short time as light failed. Gave improvement for about 30-60 mins during dusk. Night fishing? Nope. Just clear safety specs. You don't want a hook in your eyeball! I saw a photo of that and once had to have a hook cut out of my lip as I couldn't remove it myself. Back cast caught a tree and I turned to look as it released. Hook was too blunt to push through my skin after trimming it. Mrs sospan was working in the hospital at the time...her response? Get away, don't embarass me!
Didn't find the yellow tints useful for driving. I use the sun visor, baseball xap, try avoiding certain routes at low sun angle time. My reactolites are not effective enough for fast response needed when driving. I use permanent tints for that.
