They need to get the Plus 4 and Plus Four sorted too... I agree. Are these cars being imported under the US special rules for low volume reproduction of older models (Plus 4s) or are they newly homologated Plus Fours. The special rules, worked on for two decades by the collector car public, give Morgan a virtual monopoly for 325 cars ( an enormous 4-wheel number for the MMC) that need not adhere to current DOT regs, an immense saving and a much less complicated and lighter car. It would be a bomb!! OR are these Plus Fours, wholly different than the Plus 4s of yesteryear. North American and Downunder owners have traditionally been a very hands-on bunch and those markets are dying for something that hobbyist owners can fully interact with again. The special rules are a gift for Morgan. However, I am doubtful that the current MMC has the ability (or the Management desire) to produce 1980 trads as much as the company's ultimate owners love them. gmg

Hemmings is repeating something published in the Robb Report. The Robb Report--mostly--publishes press releases.
Word on the street is that Morgan still hasn't received CARB* approval. Without CARB, they don't intend to ship cars to the USA.

Just heard from my dealer here near Washington DC ... they are ordering a demonstrator car now that should be produced in November/December. First deliveries to customers expected during the first half of 2025. No official pricing yet. $75k would be rather cheap in comparison to what the configurator right now shows for the UK.

Thanks, I have been waiting since 2021 for the approval to come through and followed in the meantime this blog, looking at all the great pictures but also hearing about all the issues your are having.

After 4 years those issues are almost solved. But it is still a Morgan and a dealer not to far from your home is a must.

What about all the additional costs ? From my experience (albeit fairly limited, only Long Beach and Charleston, and about 30 years out of date) of trans-Atlantic shipping, I do recall some of these factors: -- getting the car from Malvern to a UK port of embarkation -- export documentation -- trans-Atlantic container shipping cost, loading -- insurance -- off loading, import procedures, customs duties -- onward transportation to destination -- applicable state taxes Can anyone with more recent experience please add to this list and/or quantify some of the current equivalent costs ?

Sounds about right. We shipped from KL into Long Beach and cleared the containers off the train in Memphis. You also off course need insurance. These days I'm guessing c $5k per can from the uk.

Yes, I agree $75k seems highly unrealistic even if that is without VAT considering the 75k pounds base in UK and an exchange rate of 1.33 $ per pound plus all the additional cost to get it to the dealer here mentioned above. Well, in a few weeks we will know more.
