Any comments? Apparently you put lump of antimony in your tank, and it neutralises the acid formed by e-bugs

Where's the science?, is the fundamental question. We've seen tank pellets before which performed miracles, and none seem to have survived.

From the Stag Owners Club Forum
"The Advertisng Standards Authority (ASA) has investigated the claims made by Sussex Promotions t/a Fuel Diamond (Sussex Promotions) and published their ruling on 17 August 2022 (attached).

The report says "We told Sussex Promotions t/a Fuel Diamond not to make claims that the Fuel Diamond could prevent fuel/petrol from going stale or neutralise ethanol and therefore prevent damage to vehicles, or any similar claims, unless they held adequate substantiation to support them". This was on the basis that the following claims in their advertising were misleading and could not be substantiated: "PREVENT DAMAGE", "Neutralise the ethanol in petrol", "the product could stop or prevent fuel/petrol from going stale".

The manufacturer appears to have sidestepped the ASA ruling by signing-up one or more retailers, but personally I don't plan on buying the product anytime soon"

Other sources also say 'snake oil'

The first sentence "ethanol is made of corn or sugar beet" just makes me laugh ,or it least it would do if it wasn't so patently misleading.

Reading on, there are other equally non-scientific claims made that I wonder just how stupid do they think motorists are?

Absolute codswallop. Not only should the advertising , also the product should be banned.

Perhaps the worst stupidity is that water and ethanol are totally miscible in all proportions , so there is no water layer, it is dissolved in the ethanol.

Words fail me.

It's fine that one can get their money back if not completely satisfied but you are then stuck with that thing in our tank!

If it is antimony it is a dangerous poison. Don't go near it

Fuel bug in diesel was a common problem on boats where it's left in the tank over a winter lay up. Always left the tank brimmed to avoid excessive condensation that contributed to it thriving. The cures are well documented and do kill the bug. You still have to filter out the dead stuff left though.

This stale petrol cure sounds like snake oil though.
