Thi The first sentence "ethanol is made of corn or sugar beet" just makes me laugh ,or it least it would do if it wasn't so patently misleading.
Reading on, there are other equally non-scientific claims made that I wonder just how stupid do they think motorists are?
Absolute codswallop. Not only should the advertising , also the product should be banned.
Perhaps the worst stupidity is that water and ethanol are totally miscible in all proportions , so there is no water layer, it is dissolved in the ethanol.
Words fail me. This product has had a bit of a charmed life. Initially, when leaded petrol was banned it became a lead substitute and at least one of the motoring mags denounced them as snake oil! Arwyn

As pointed out earlier, the Advertising Standards Authority has already ruled against the claims of this product and the seller (Sussex Promotions) has been told not to repeat them: " In the absence of evidence demonstrating that the Fuel Diamond could prevent stale fuel or neutralise ethanol, and therefore prevent associated damage to vehicles, we concluded that the claims in the ads had not been substantiated and were misleading.[The ads] must not appear again in the forms complained of. We told Sussex Promotions t/a Fuel Diamond not to make claims that the Fuel Diamond could prevent fuel/petrol from going stale or neutralise ethanol and therefore prevent damage to vehicles, or any similar claims, unless they held adequate substantiation to support them." www.asa.org.uk/rulings/sussex-promotions 17-August-2022 The recent marketing seems to have been watered down (pun intended) but I see they've shipped over 37 thousand of these things through their eBay store alone so I guess it's lucrative enough for them to disregard the ruling.

They were at the big Malvern show earlier in the summer surrounded bye Triumph T shirted owners. When a lone little Morgan owner asked how it worked the seller said I cant explain too much to you but I know it works. Time to walk away, but I did get a good deal on another stall three bottles of Stabil........

Arwyn It's actually a lot older than that ... the Victorians used antimony pills to purge the bowels! It was known as "the everlasting pill" because once it had done its job (or you had) it would be retrieved and used again. One pill would serve a whole family, it would be passed down as an heirloom. Of course, along with other old remedies like trepanning and leeches, medical professionals no longer endorse it! Antimony is an unusual metal in that it contracts when heated. Alloyed with lead it was used in hot metal typesetting so that the molten metal slugs would stay the same size when cooled. That exhausts my QI gained knowledge of antimony.
