Out for a drive yesterday in the Plus Four, the sun was out, roof down, and all was fine in the world. Stopped for a couple of bits at the shops, restarted the engine and oh no! Many warnings appear on the information screen! Red O/S, engine warning, exclamation mark, and something else I think...Turn it off and count to 30 then restart, no difference, pushed the O/S button, no difference. Disconnected the battery for 5 minutes, re-connected, no difference so drove the couple of miles home put it in the garage and disconnected the battery and left it over night. This morning reconnected and fired up the engine. Now all the lights are off except the engine warning indicator. I don't believe there is anything wrong with the car - just something in the rubbish software. sensors and electrics, but it's off to the dealers for a service in a couple of weeks so I'll see what they have to say. As the car is out of warranty now, (2021 car), I can't help wondering what this is going to cost me and what is the point of all the tech?

Hi Liam, is it an automatic? I think that according to non-conformity you might expect that the Morgan should perform without this problem. I go further in Dutch, because Sassenheim is in Holland: heb je de PlusFour in onderhoud bij Louwman?
Succes,
Groet, Ruut

Ouch . Do you have a ODDII sensor and a torque app that will tell you any fault codes. Do you have the latest reflash as I know on my manual an MY22 car they even changed the OS module & reflashed when fitting the new rad. I would argue a warranty problem.

Thanks for the advice regarding reading fault codes - I'll look into that. In fact the car is now exported back to the UK so it will be going to Bell and Colvill from now on - but Louwman Exclusive have done a good job for me in the Netherlands. Interesting thing is that I managed to turn off the engine warning light! After spending some days with the battery disconnected I reconnected and started the car no problem, except for the engine warning....so I pressed the OS button and on came the OS warning. Turned off the engine. restarted and hey-presto! No warning lights! A quick drive around and all is good in the world!! All things considered I believe it's just the rubbish software (many reported issues on the forum) but it will be interesting to see what the dealer has to say when they plug in the magic machine!

That OS warning popped up a few times in mine after delivery, in 2022, haven’t seen it since

A quick update. The service and MOT has been done, fault codes were read - only fault code referred to the O/S unit. Apparently Morgan say to delete the code and re-calibrate the O/S unit - which has been done. Has it been fixed? Time will tell! MOT failed on a defective hand brake...I was charged to adjust it! In the old days adjustment of the hand brake was part of the service! Unfortunately I can't find a service schedule for the plus four so I don't know what it includes. Does anyone have something that lists the service items? The hand book really does not help.

Sadly nowadays, many service schedules may look like a comprehensive list of tasks to be carried out but when you look closely, they are often preceded by the word “check”. That means that if something is found to be defective following the “check”, the garage is able to charge for the work carried out, unless it says “check and adjust” of course. Yet another reason why I DIY.

Maybe someone has a CX checklist for servicing as dealers have for the trads.

Just had a look at an old dealer service schedule for my plus 4 from over 10 years ago when I had a dealer service. Of the 64 items listed, 50 of them are preceded by the word “Check”. However, the handbrake item does actually say “Adjust Handbrake”.
