Lovely but then I'm very biased  I toured many of the WW1 battlefields this summer on my GS camping. As you say, we bikers are treated differently over there. Next year we plan to explore in more detail a couple of areas of conflict and follow the route of one of my great uncles.

We had an epic tour to Black Forest a few years ago; my bike then was a GSXR750!!
Hardly a tourer, but with just a day pack and throw-over panniers all went well.As for the welcome, I agree that you are treated with far more courtesy than in the UK. I really like Southern Germany, wonderful people, wonderful scenery and fantastic roads.
I would like to take the Mog there.

Excellent ! That's the great thing about the reliability of old British bikes.....put a bit of air in the back tyre, give the tree a bit of a trim back and away you go !

I love the old and the new ones and tour every year in Europe myself.
