I agree, although the early Cobra 289 were still fairly discreet.
For a more affordable alternative the cars from Hawk are very well engineered replicas. I've seen one or two at shows and you'd be hard pushed to tell them from the original.
As mph says, aside from a little lip round the wheel-arches the 289 Cobra was very similar (always preferred them to the bulgy 'steroid' look of the 427).... though the AC without even the lip does have just the edge for design purity to my eye .... I reckon for that money you could spec any darned headlight that took your fancy!! (They do led versions of the 'tripod' headlights if you want really old looking.)
They certainly are a gratuitously pretty car! ... and getting more so as we become so familiar with the software designed 'bland-mobiles' that litter the roads! 🙂
