Well I am off tomorrow to repeat a run we did in 2017.
Eurotunnel to France then down to Nice/Monaco way, then onto Positano. Apparently 1500 mile each way. I am aiming to use the Peage for some of the running to save time, or spend more of it in Positano depending on how you look at it.
Lets hope I don't trouble Borghi this time around! (I did take the full AA package!)
Photo's will be posted on Farcebook.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful trip Alistair.
When my good lady and I stayed in Sorrento in mid June 2004 ish, we got up and out at circa 05:00hrs to drive the Amalfi coast road. when it was free of traffic, though the high walls and that the Mog was RHD, meant that Mrs Luddite did not see much though we stopped at a few parking spots along the way to take a pic or two.. After the drive we headed back to Pompeii and waited in the car park for it to open, being first in, we had the place to ourselves for quite a while...(-:

Drive the coast clockwise from Salerno to Positano to give passenger the best view albeit looking across the oncoming lane. It's very very narrow in places and parking can be tricky. There are some great restaurants in Praiano. Enjoy

Well that was different. Home to Macon was fine. Macon to Monaco went well.
Left Monaco and only got a hour before the mog did cough, splutter, fail to proceed
AA utterly useless no one or update for five hours. Stopped on the main A16 motorway so not exactly nowhere. Each time I chased them I got more cobblers I gave it at 7pm. Called the local motorway recovery from the big tube phone by the side and had someone with 35 mins. I had been trying to work it out and once recovered it was contaminated fuel. So drain, new filter, and fresh fuel and off I trot. Words will be had with the AA, useless.
So overnight run down to Positano and arrived this morning for sunrise. Roads wonderfully quiet. Including the Amalfi costal road thankfully. Sitting here in a thunderstorm wondering if I did a wrong turn and am now in Skegness?

As for the coast road - beautiful but terrifying in an Italian coach, with a driver who thinks he’s in Formula 1. Bud 4/4 - Stanley
