I don't think 'total' reliability exists in any car. However, even an old knacker can be reliable if serviced and set up properly. I bought a tired MGB GT in May 2023 - spent a couple of hundred quid and several hours fettling, and have done 300miles a week, every week since. Has let me down once, but that was due to a loose earth connection (body side, not battery) which was an easy fix.

Models amazingly still seem to have problems as my last plus 8 did (put right though) . I find this unbelievable with todays computer run cars.

People on this forum have been predicting the demise of MMC since they switched from flat rads to curved, and added an extra wheel. I wouldn't pay too much attention. I think Peter Morgan once said something along the lines of 'we build them, and then the owners make them work'......

Personally, I'd drag your +8 out of hibernation - do a complete but basic recomission and see how it goes....

Still it will take a lot to dim my love of traditional looking Morgans and Morgan owners.
Best MM

The problem IS the computers and arms race to include more tech than we actually need, even the mainstream manufacturers with huge R&D budgets produce stuff that suddenly blows a 'brain fart' that even trained techs can't fathom
