Enjoyed reading of your trip Alistair, brings back happy memories, I also liked the term "Rumbling along," very apt and reminiscent of my good lady and I`s similar trip in my old +8, whereby we used the m/way network to get down to Sorrento, over a few days, using it as a base to discover the area on the return leg we took much longer, often using back roads, and getting pleasantly lost ( using paper maps) to find our way back up through Italy and France...10 out of 10 for the old tec +8 trad Mog on such a trip as it did not miss a beat. Sorry to read of your tec issues, but I would trust my old Mog more on such a trip than my 991.1 C4S..... Typed like a true Luddite... (-:

Broken down on the A12 waiting in vain for the AA, great for drying my jeans on the hot bonnet in the sun.

Arriving in Positano at 5.30am as the sun rises. Quite surreal.

Great photos, thank you, makes me want to be there... Our dining room table is presently covered in maps as we are making plans for a three week round tour of Southern France and the Pyrenees in the Plus Six.. She who must be obeyed has booked most of our stop overs with booking.com, just the last 1/4 of the trip to work out.. Cant wait to go...

That sounds like a great trip Dave can't think of a better car to do it in. Remember when you get to Monaco try and park next to a ferrari or Lambo either will do retreat to a safe distance have a coffee or a little drinkie and watch which everyone will take an interest in Em

Traffic jams in Monaco have the potential to be a tad different, from the usual given all the high end machinery driving round in circles...and it seemed a policeman on every street corner, interesting place for sure, and as aerotaff seems to be suggesting, a Morgan can be quite the most exclusive calling card available, even an old +8...(-:

Kinda reminds me of a www story with pictures some years back, where as best I can remember, an old and very well travelled Morgan turned up at a large hotel Morgan club event with all the usual goings on, at such gatherings, concours etc.etc.etc. While the travelled Mog was ..err.. not short of openly displaying a degree of patina, apparently it was attracting so much attention parked amongst all the other Mogs which were no doubt polished to perfection, that it was taken out of the car park and given pride of place in the hotel foyer... (-:
It seems on occasion there can be advantage found in being just a bit different...(-: ?
