That's interesting to hear but I can't see the engineering side of things moving, which is a big part of Hethel. One car I have forgoten about is the EV hypercar, Evija. But at 2m a pop I've not got my name down for one!
It seems to me that one of the results of the move upmarket is that the second hand prices of the CX are effectively much lower, as a percentage of the list price, than the trads were.
Probably second hand prices of all Morgans are falling faster than they once did.
Certainly a new Plus Four would be out of the question for me today but then my income has changed little in the 12 years since I bought our car whereas the average income has increased by about 50%. Taking that into consideration perhaps a reasonably spec PlusFour at about £80K is not so ridiculous.
I still think the PlusSix is just bonkers and way overpowered for this type of vehicle. The number that have come to a sad end would seem to add some validity to my opinion.
As I said before I would love to have a lower powered version with a few bells and whistles, 180 to 200 hp turbo, with ABS, traction control, auto box and paddle shift, a nice audio system and aircon, and all that more modern suspension system. Perhaps I can get our local body shop to fit the Morgan coachwork to an MX5
Ref the power in the Plus Six, for me its fine, but I do drive it like you would a very high powered motorcycle, being aware that its rear drive and no traction computer monitoring.. A few years ago I asked Henry at Williams when we purchased it if Morgan had thought of putting the Mercedes C63 AMG V8 Bi -turbo in the Plus Six chassis, ( he thought not.. ) for me that was one of the nicest engines I had driven and I just loved that V8 sound track.. I do miss that engine.. however, even the C63 needed traction control with that power ( around 460 HP ) as it was the last of the rear wheel drives.. I had a driving day at the Mercedes Brooklands track with AMG that taught owners how to drive it and what to watch out for... this came standard when you purchased the car new.. It was an absolute hoot, but also very very serious... Come the end of the day I had the C63 drifting sideways at 80 Mph around the track corners.. My wife who wanted to come out for a lap or two as passenger in the rear to " see what its like" did not enjoy it very much. I have to say the track car was Mercedes own not mine... same model though.. I asked the instructor how long the tyres lasted, he said one set per day!.

I don't usually follow Aero or CX posts, but this thread has kindled my interest. In particular, I came across this video of Jay Leno and Charles Morgan with the Aero Super Sports, and I must say that's one helluva car. Remind me why MMC didn't continue production ?

Interesting that the Aeros are more powerful than the Plus Six, its all those V8 cubes.... From reading a few reports when the vehicle was first available the number of Plus Six accidents may be down to the Plus Six autobox undertaking a unexpected downshift when the vehicle is cornering.. From my distant memory I believe this was quietly sorted by the factory a few years ago with software updates to the box?? Although you still need to respect the fact that its the BHP going through the rear drive..
