Good evening All,

Well, I am officially MOG-less. The word that keeps coming to mind is bittersweet.

Getting a 4/4 has to be hands down one of the best automotive decisions I've ever made. It seems like yesterday when I called Henry and enquired about a 4/4 and how getting a build slot works to which I was informed that there would be a wait for a 4/4 Sport as MMC had literally just unveiled the 80th Anniversary. My knowledge of Morgan and its offerings was minimal but once I clapped my eyes on the 80th I knew I had to have it. The call lasted less than 20 mins and at the end of it I had a deposit and an appointment to actually drive one!

Many here have been through the build process so won't wax on about that. In short, the whole process was amazing, from the many visits to Williams and the factory to following the build. A massive thanks to one who shall not be named who made it even more special. You know who you are smile

I then discovered TalkMorgan. For me, it's not just the car and brand that keeps me hooked but also the community, much like this one. The passion shared here is fantastic and a great place to be.

Not being a native Brit, I now had the perfect chariot to explore the northern countryside, tours through North Wales, dozen's of cars and coffees etc. The crescendo of my journey culminated in a cross EU tour. Three weeks traveling through the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and finally Greece. It was the summer before Covid and let me tell you, what a way to end a year before what was to come. The weather was brutally hot and a ton of road to cover to ensure I kept to scheduled visits with friends along the way. It was beyond surreal that this little car got me to Greece and back without missing a beat.

It will be very strange not seeing Oliver in the garage but am thankful for the memories. As they say, one door closes and another opens.

A massive thank you to all those I have met and interacted with and hopefully our paths will cross again.

I know many will want to know where the car went to which I say, watch this space.

So why sell the car?

It was time to move. I was putting more miles taking it for service and MOT than I was for a joy ride.

Ahh, I understand. I get ‘itchy spanner’s’ and swap classics quite regularly. Good luck with the quest to replace it.

My attitude is ‘you’re not selling the memories’; therefore, you have those to enjoy and if, at some point, you decide you’d like another Morgan experience, you can always open another chapter in that story.

There are many ex-owners who remain within the community and I hope you will do the same Perry.

Perry, well done in the current fierce environment mind someone has a fabulous car to begin their adventures in whilst you have all those lovely memories.

Good luck on your new one, but do stick around.

Everything has its time, whilst it is bitter sweet, its reassuring that you have been able to sell the car in a timely fashion in a difficult market. A life full of memories is far better than a garage full of unused possessions, now its time to move onto the next adventure.

I sold my +8 a few years ago but still remain a member on here as it is great fun and a good bunch of chaps.

I’m glad to learn you’ve managed to sell so quickly, take the money and run. The new owner is very fortunate though, they’ve bought the second best 4/4 Morgan ever built!😂
I daren’t allow such dark thoughts as “selling” to enter my mind, I hardly use my 4/4 at the moment but I’m not ready to let go of that part of my life yet (nor ever), I’ve never enjoyed growing up.
