I can say that the UK has too much supply and Europe has a lot of demand or at least the sellers hope so.. Of course, not everyone in this country wants a RHD. But anyway, the prices for a 4/4 are pretty much twice as high here. Despite our economic situation, which is anything but rosy.

Here is the list of current Morgan 4/4 offers.

There used to be an app for autotrader which tracked the way that the advertised price for a particular car was changed by the advertiser. Havent seen it around for some time now - likely killed off by the trade I guess.

Thanks for the link on the complexities of exporting/importing between the UK and EU Heinz.

I have an acquaintance who moved to France to live from the UK pre Brexit, he took his collection of m/cycles and cars with him, and at the time thinking about lh/rh drive I asked why he did not sell his cars in the UK and but replacements in the EU, he told me that the same cars in the EU were more expensive..

I have to admit I do not tend to monitor the market value of cars and m/cycles these days, in that I have no intention of buying or selling any vehicles in the near future...

Heinz,

Without question the UK was the main market for Morgans and hence current over supply and depressed prices, If there is a demand in Europe, why is Morgan not supplying it? One of the potential issues maybe the small size of the dealer network in Europe and lack of independent support for Morgans across Europe. Whilst the UK has quite a decent network, the further north you go the more limited and greater distances you have to travel to get support, could be a disincentive eg in Scotland there is only one official dealer, in Ireland only one dealer which means for new vehicles you have pretty limited choice and may have to travel vast distances.

Surely with the price differential there may be room to convert RHD into LHD.

John, I'm not really sure how “real” the demand is, or if we're seeing the twilight of the gods. I don't know how realistically the sales offers are being accepted and paid for.
With the newer Plus Six, it's also the case that some people (including dealers) want six figures for a 2020 or 21 model.
