John Harris if you are ever down on the A55 in North Wales near Abergele you are welcome to drop in with your BRB's and we can fit them. If your sport is a wide body then they won't rub the tyre on full lock and a narrow body depends on tyre width and wheel in-set. Dave W explain it well and there are ways over that although you might be interested to know that Morgan were known for wheels rubbing chassis' and were given MOT dispensation for it! That's a very kind offer I'll bear it in mind. I always enjoy the A55 often on the way to Holyhead for the ferry.

When I did the resto I was amused to find the alloy 'rubbing blocks' that keep the tyre from contacting the edge of the chassis itself ... I seem to remember there was a version with a roller as well ... better solution but a bit 'tech' for a Morgan🙂 ... If I ever get out from under my serial projects to the point of looking for a little job to do I may fabricate myself some up 🙂

Yep the rollers are still available. Seen them for sale very recently, might have been Melvyn /Rutter's!

Have had the trad Plus 4 for five years now. My third Morgan. It has never let me down, has very many embellishments and I happen to love the colour. Others clearly think likewise as “The Landladies Choice” is among its awards! It even had the audacity to overtake a 3.7 Roadster past the pits at Snetterton…
The temptation was mulled over at length for exchanging to CX. However, to replicate the current spec and colour would necessitate a new car and that is not an option. Reliability issues were also a consideration for a used CX, especially once out of warranty.
Bottom line for me is this: The current car’s market value is immaterial, so long as I can continue to tinker with it, enjoy it and get a hell of a buzz out of making progress down the open road 😊

Yes Themorganeer ,its very much those things you mention that are applicable to me too. I have the ford engine'd plus 4 as well and everything on and about the car I can sort myself and this is what gives me a full ownership enjoyment experience. There are aspects of ownership I have thought about re. the plus four CX, perhaps when I'm older....maybe, maybe NOT! but its certainly not for me at this time.
From living in Germany in the 1970's until returning to the UK in early 1980 and from then in the UK until 2014 I bought , owned and drove BMW cars. The cars themselves are magnificent but the dealership quality in the UK is what I can only describe as totally corrupt. In Germany it was like taking your car to a top medical unit but when I returned to the UK I soon learnt that this was not the case here. Finally in 2017 after an extremely distressing event from a main dealer service dept. where two major warranty jobs were totally bodged and then faulty old parts had been swapped on to my car in order to what I can only believe was to gain extra work and money, I pulled the plug on ever owning a BMW again. I complained directly to the BMW UK head office and received a dismissive reply stating that "We are sorry that our level of work did not meet your expected standard but should like to point out that we are constantly endeavoring to improve our levels of quality throughout our organisation" This, despite the fact that I had informed them that that faulty used parts that had been illegally installed onto my car with date stamps which preceded the build date of my car by some 8 years! and only you, BMW and myself had ever touched the car.
Morgan dealerships are few and far between geographically and I feel that sooner or later one would have to seek the assistance of an authorised BMW dealership and I certainly cannot find myself ever crossing their palm with the hard earned ever again. In fact putting this into print has reinforced my belief that in fact I will not be changing to a CX platformed car all the time that BMW have an association with Morgan and I look forward to seeing the tales of woe which I feel are probably just about to start showing in these hallowed pages we all use to help or be helped by and with fellow likeminded morganeer's.
