I'm really looking forward to seeing what Morgan brings as a replacement for the PlusSix... especially the motorisation. Does a Morgan need a boot? “Does a Morgan need a boot”? IMHO In the past, those who needed plenty of carrying capacity opted for a 4 seater. Otherwise a luggage rack along with any space behind the seats, has been used. 19 years of ownership of my 4/4, c50k miles and numerous trips abroad have all been made, just using a luggage rack, Bud 4/4 - Stanley

However, I have carried luggage externally on my first 2 seater 4/4. To be honest I have never felt happy with either of these arrangements, as under both circumstances the luggage is in plain sight and therefore may attract the wrong attention, making parking up any where whilst loaded a potentially fraught experience, I could do without. It's bad enough with an open topped car that there really hasn't that much secure cubby hole space for small things let alone big suitcases in plain sight. I would have to see the overall design of the car. as to whether the boot adds or detracts from the shape of the car and how practical the boot really is.

“Does a Morgan need a boot”? I think possibly a more appropriate question might be "Do the kind of people who we are targeting as purchasers of new Morgans expect to have a boot on the car?" The old days of Morgans as simple, light sports cars is long gone, and there's seemingly no way MMC can get their build costs down to compete with the likes of Caterham. If they want to carry on selling cars they are going to have to provide a product that their target market segment wants to buy. I would think that along with proper doors and a leak-proof hood, a boot could well form part of the package.

My wife is always worried about that too, I'm a bit more relaxed. Has anyone here ever lost anything from their car or even an entire suitcase from the luggage rack while parked?

Thank you Keith. 🤣
A feature that has made a number of people to struggle, while working out how to get into the car!

Not happened to me, but there have been a few instances of items going missing from Morgans. Doesn't appear to be common though.
