The factory web site seems to have settled down now, with all sections agreeing about the Roadster engine. Power output 280bhp smile , but 0-62 dropped further to 5.5 secs frown . It's going to be interesting to see how it feels compared with the mk1. All I need now is a start date for the build of my new one... smile

I am also really curious about the final spec of the engine. My dealer will receive one of the first built examples and I will for sure be there the second it arrives...

The stated 5,5 seconds seems to be a little on the safe side (even if I am sure it still will put a smile in my face according to earlier experiences...). If they manage to keep the weight down it would theoretically be closer to 5 (or even below, but maybe the steps between the other models will be messed up then...). Or maybe Morgan has just optimized the gears for a quick 0-200km/h sprint happy3

Hi Jochen,
That must be a really fast accelerating car, 280 hp in combination with a 4.1 ratio. Do you reach 100km/h in second gear with this combination?

Well, my dear Heinz,

that is what the whole thing is supposed to be about.. laugh2

But i think i´ll opt for the 3,73:1 (instead of the standrad 3,08:1 i´ve heard of) to give the rear tyres at least a slight chance to survive.... innocent

It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. laugh2

Ah ok. That sounds reasonable. 3.08 seems to be way long.

Off topic: In my new Supersports, 3,73 is relative long (same ratio as a roadster 3.0 litres, but about 1.300 rpm higher revving, which is also needed to get full performance).

Power and acceleration is sufficient. But she reaches more than 120km/h in second and more than 160km/h in third gear.

If a 3.9 ratio would be available that would fit good to the Plus4SS I guess...

3.7 Roadster will have 6 speed box, I would want to know what the gear ratios were before I tinkered with the final drive thinking

The 3.73:1 axle, too long on 4/4 and +4( in my opinion) on the 3.0 Roadster is just about spot on.

The mph/1000 rpm figures quoted in the handbook are "approximate" - the same speeds are quoted (to 2 decimal places!)for 4/4, +4 and 3.0Roadster even though the wheel /tyre combinations are different ooo

I agree in both points. Ratio is spot on for the 3.0 Roadster. And regarding the 3.7 litre Roadster a six gear box will definitely offer closer gears ratios.

Dear Easter & Heinz,

i totally agree regarding that gearbox ratios. thumbs
The genuine Mustang-boxes ratios would "meet" the 3,73:1 well, but i heard rumours about some other make of 6-speed box beeing fitted to the customer cars - ratios not known up to now (or DOES anybody yet????). confused2

So i´ll await my testdrive SOONEST to decide (& ask for the "proper" rear diff ratio..) finally woohoo
