Dave, i have had several cars where the dials 'fog up!'

A friend then told me that he purchased a small 2.5 or 3 foot electric tube heater, the ones that prove low heat and are circa 2p/hr to run.

When left inside his car in the winter months (he placed the heater on a wood base across the front seats and shut the door, trailing the wire through the window to the soft top - where there is a natural gap) he never experienced fogging up AND the inside of the car was also dry/fresh and free from condensation!

I never got around to trying this but he says the whole inside 'feels better' if a little heat is placed in the car.....must admit it does seem to make sense?

A gentle trip up the A30 to The Royal Landscape (parking at Savill Garden), helping to get my wife 'acclimatised' to the Plus Six. One decent walk and a coffee later and the B-roads were used for the return trip, somewhat more interesting!

Now two months of SORN, so preparations for hibernation tomorrow.

Just back from a short run. First of the year.
25 miles to Llansteffan in clear skies and roof down. Heated seats and heater working a treat. Monty was strapped in behind the seats. Nice walk on the beach round to Scott's Bay. Car park was pretty full but cafes closed. Tide was out, Monty inspected the pools for paddling. Walked back on th3 cliff path below the castle.

We had a spin out today to Aberpoth and a coastal walk to Tresaith in glorious sunshine, on the way home the clouds came over with sleat some snow and the dreaded gritters until ten miles from home and sunshine again.

Thinking of getting our Plus Four out of its winter storage for an allegedly sunny day on Sunday, forecast 2 degrees C. Roof-off drive of about 75 mins each way to/from lunch. Is this insane ... or simply brave? (Might at least avoid tiny back lanes in case they have not been de-iced.)

Go for it. Driving on a cold sunny day is excellent

I bought a 1ft 45kW heater from ebay to try this. It sits in the passenger footwell on a wooden board. The temp inside the car is noticeably higher even this morning where we luxuriated in a ambient of -4c.
