I picked this up on a random news feed which might be of interest.. If like me you might be on the wrong side of 70 it has been suggested that if you drive less than 2k miles per annum, then you should consider returning your driving licence to the DVLA...

Indeed. The Reddit motoring threads are full of young tossers complaining about how dangerous older drivers are, and yet seem to have no explanation as to why it's their insurance premiums are sky-high compared to ours.

Fake news swear
I can see why it might have a few Morgan owners worried though hide

Tim, my first thought was also by suggested by whom, I guess it may not have been the Greens for obvious reasons, though what part they might have played or not in the other (click bait of late?) suggestion that country roads should be limited to 50MPH in Scotland.... Though perhaps the greens in Scotland should think back to their last major intervention re the Cal Mac fiasco...?

Graham, I picked the story up through an MSN feed, as seemingly reported in one of the daily news papers thus perhaps not click bait per say, perhaps they just had a need to fill column inches on a slow day..?

RichardvV6, hopefully the mileage could be accrued across whatever range of vehicles one has available, as opposed to just one`s Morgan... Looking at my Mogs insurance mileage it is currently set at 1500 miles...!!! Hope to manage more than that in the year ahead...!

Also saw rhis somewhere ... I took it as saying if you only do 2k a year or so you may be better off ditching your car and using the money in alternative transport ways ... obviously ties in to trying to get people out of their cars but stressing the financial drag of car ownership if you hardly use it .... didn't get any thought that it would be done via compulsion.

K, seems you may have skipped over the all important aspect for some in this forum re the thinking relative to drivers age...?
