Yes Murray certainly not the first time we view things from the same perspective, they seem to pick some great cars thumbs

Swearing in church I know but I love those full fat Audis too.

It always seemed like an impractical and unuseable version of a fairly impractical and not very useable car.........
It's for the man (or woman) who has everything......a niche within a niche..... a car for once or twice a year when you're not driving one of the other cars you only drive once or twice a year.......
It's another example Morgan's design team overruling the marketing team.......
However, that's not to say I don't like it, because I do.......and, if I had a 'collection' of cars it'd probably be in there.πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ˜†

Go for it. Like TBM I use my MOG whenever I get the chance with Aero screens. I remember watching a video of this model, and the presenter saying roof off on a MOG unless the storm has a nameπŸ˜ƒ

I very nearly bought a Speedster but found it a bit tricky being 6'2" as my head was fully in the airstream. So I priced up a Speedster with a windscreen and ultimately bought my +8 - which is the same car with weather protection. I haven't had any mechanical issues with mine, it seems fairly bullet proof.

What a lovely MOG. Those Plus 8s, Rover or BMW powered have always looked the bee knees.

I believe the BMW engine has a camshaft sensor problem, I know there has been a V8 in Lifes for ages , that is/has gone back to the factory after BMW engineers couldn't fix it.

fwiw, Google search results often give a good idea of how common something is - if you can track the spread of flu by then number of searches, you can likely judge how often an engine problem arises.

The N62 4.4 has a handful of threads on Reddit about the camshaft sensor failing & producing EML & code errors. It's a $70 part: changing it seems to fix the issue.
There's one thread for the 4.8 engine.
Given that the BMWs using the engines are 15-20 years old, that the engine in BMWs is likely to have much higher mileage with relatively infrequent servicing compared to a Morgan, that doesn't feel like a common problem for this 4.8 N62 - nor does it appear expensive to fix.

The electronics and suspension parts are of real concern with the departure of Scifab.

It's disappointing that Morgan have not really embraced the parts supply of unique items for the Aeros. There didn't appear to be the market when Simon was doing a great service to Aero owners, and also Trad owners with his radiators and shortened sumps for Roadsters. All that is lost, and although anything can be fabricated at a price, and I suppose most components can be 3D scanned, I once had a discussion with Simon about 3D scanning for a short Roadster sump, as a complete new casting. but the cost was astronomical, which is why it was never done, and why the Mulfab unit is steel.
