Hi, What type of bulbs are required for a 2014 Morgan Plus 4? I’m looking at making up a small spares kit to carry in the glove box with bulbs and fuses. Does anyone have a list of small items that they carry? Thanks
Thanks, Bob

Switch to LED and forget about them.

I'd also recommend Classic Car LEDs.
Can't say for definite, but I'd carry a H4 (headlight), a 381 (twin filament rear/brake light) and a 382 (Indicator and probably reverse and fog)

Another vote for Classic Car LEDs
I've put LEDs in the Morgan and the Landy, with the exception of the indicators on both and the headlights on the Morgan, as I'm not sure whether you could fit the H4 replacements into the headlamp bowls, even the ones with the remote gubbins. The standard ones like I put on the Landy certainly wouldn't fit.
If anyone's done the headlights, I'd be interested which ones they went for.

I fitted LED headlights (UK approved) from Cain @ Wolf performance complete units about £330 I think but well worth it. If you can't beat them join them

I have ordered rear stop light LEDs after reading an article in Miscellany. I was also looking at the Wolf Performance headlights as I believe it is an MOT fail to place LEDs into Halogen headlights. I was just looking to keep a spare of each normal bulb. I have looked on the Classic Car LED website, and although the year only goes to 1993, the Lucas parts catalogue says 382 and 380 so I will be buying the Bosch kit that includes a H4 bulb for the time being.
Thanks, Bob

I think you are wise to do this. Although LEDs have a long life, as with all electronic stuff, a few may fail prematurely. Sod’s law…that will happen when far away from home where it might be difficult to find a replacement! Referring to your OP, In addition to bulbs, I would add a spare diode protected relay to your emergency stock, as I known many more failures of those than for light bulbs. Also of course a few cable ties and insulation tape. a small pair of pliers and a small adjustable wrench and a couple of screw drivers.

I believe it is an MOT fail to place LEDs into Halogen headlights. I think this is an example of where the legislation is failing to keep up with technical developments. Sure, it's a bad idea to let people put any old LED bulb into a reflector/lens setup designed for H4 bulbs, but now that you can get LEDS that replicate the light spread of H4, I can't see an issue. I had no problem getting the Landy through its last MOT with a set of H4 LEDs installed.

It is illegal for a car post I think 1986 to fit LED bulbs if H4 was the standard fitment. Total rubbish of course, I had LED bulbs in my Roadster but then moved over to full LED units.
The differene to H4s and your safety is dramatic.
