Mid way through fitting new king pins and bushes I’m intrigued to have discovered some sort of sensor in the brake callipers mounting bracket on the offside suspension assembly. It’s a small threaded hall effect(?) sensor with wires going off into the engine bay loom.
Can’t find any reference to it in Wolf parts books so I’m guessing it’s either to tell the ecu if the car is moving or an electronic speedometer transmitter
Very odd

Thanks No the daft question - any specific measurement for refitting it? Guess who just unscrewed it without taking any measurements?

I'd PM Dave. I think it is tucked away in a post with lots of fixes to his plus 4

Inductive/magnetic sensors for crankshaft, camshaft or speed usually have a gap between 0.5...1.0mm. You can't do anything wrong, start with 0.8mm and check how even the gap around the circumference of the trigger wheel is. What you should aim for is a correct reading on the Speedometer under all environmental conditions. If you experience dropouts or false-reading on the Speedo, reduce the gap to get stable results.

I’ve done that, thanks.
And thanks Peter. I do have a witness mark on the sensor so that’s a starting point!
