Good health and happy driving till then,

Once again, please point out where someone has stated that your "more limited experience" means that "due to that lack of time and experience my voice and views count for less." No one has done so. If you are intending to "bow out here quietly" rather than accept that everyone is equally entitled to their individual opinion, you can; however, don't do it based on a falsehood.

In essence, your posts seem to come from a place that mirrors your own sentiment: the opinions of others, which do not match your own, "count for less."

As I have said from the outset, everyone is entitled to their opinion but berating others who don't share that opinion is not fair and reasonable.

Lastly, you appear to be judging the people who have passed comment on the Supersport as older than you, perhaps even aged, which is also untrue. The age demographic of TM is diverse and whilst there are older owners, plenty are, what would be considered, middle aged and a fair few are younger than yourself. Thus, trying to justify that the community is old and curmudgeonly is equally untrue. As an aside, the person who introduced the Aero to me, and was my doorway into the Morgan world, is 30 years my senior and you couldn't ask for an owner who supported the company more. He, and many others in the community, have shown time and time again that age does not dull passion for the brand and the product.

(When you read this "in 30 years" I hope you will see that simply because someone has a disparate opinion to you own, regarding a vehicle, it doesn't mean they are wrong or not entitled to voice their own views on said product)

I'll leave it there because I've stated the obvious and nothing more needs to be said.

Handbags at dawn 😀

Anyway, I like the back, really like the hardtop, sidescreen fitting is an improvement, still in keeping with the original look. IMHO better than an electric window. Pretty sure the front end will grow on me in good time, nice to see the development of interior gagets without an enormous screen and fingers crossed they deprecate to a more sensible price in a couple of years time so I can part ex my Alpine.

hello people, sorry I'm late to the party

I just want to say how much I'm enjoying this thread. Shame it's not in person as I'm sure there would have been raised voices and in the end, 10 paces and pistols at dawn.

With one sweeping generalisation I'm probably going to upset all traditional Morgan owners, 'no one cares about you anymore'.

It's true, as a target market you are dying out. Although you are the people that have helped keep our little British car company alive over the years, you job is now done and Morgan thank you for your commitment, loyalty and service. There have been many brands in the past that have not recognised that development and change is an essential part of survival, just fading away over time as they hold onto the past and what they've always known and done. Morgan doesn't want to be one of them.

I'm sure that Charles Morgan was looking to the future at the point of selling Morgan, with passion and money being invested into Morgan, to enable growth and development. The introduction of the aluminium platform has allowed the transition from a car that looked to the past for inspiration, to one that looks forwards to the unknown as a canvass for opportunity.

The Supersport is a real defining point for the brand. It separates the 'traditional' from the modern. The Plus Four bringing the traditional 'classic' look, with the Supersport embodying the modern forward movement. For those new buyers of a pure classic looking car, the Four is there and waiting, for those wanting something else, then another Morgan will provide.

the Supersport brings opportunities to reach a younger market, with a quality of drive and the introduction of tech that will keep diving enthusiasts happy. It has a strength and presence that only the Areo before it has managed to achieve. This car is solid and holds its own in any environment and in any company. It needs to be seen, then seen again to full appreciate how good this car actually is.

I will of course document my spec, build and delivery; if you want to experience this vicariously you can find me on YouTube and instagram, Julian_theviews

I'm really puzzled where this 'them and us' mentality is coming from? I wonder if it's a reflection of todays youth that they have a 'if you're not with me you're against me' mentality?

I'll accept that there are one or two individuals who seem to have been wishing the demise of Morgan since they dropped the king pin oiler, but most of us are passionate about the company and rather excited about all the new developments and innovations. My 80year old Mum and 90 year old Dad still visit the factory most weeks, and given hafl a chance she'd steal a Super 3 cos she thinks they'd be fun.....

That said, we are still entitled to our opinions, and that means we can and will critique anything that comes out of the factory. My ultimate dream is a satin black Aeromax. Rich wants and Aston Green one. Doesn't mean I'm going to throw my toys out and flounce off the forum cos he has a different view. Personally, I thought the first iteration of the Aero looked an absolute dogs dinner, but that didn't mean I wanted the factory to collapse.

Ultimately the factory has never cared about me - I have an old 4/4 worth about £12K. I have had a few cups of coffee in the experience centre, and once bought a jumper but MMC do not make a penny from me, and are unlikely to in the future, so why should they care? Still doesn't stop me being passionate about Morgan - as said previously, like many here my relationship with the brand goes back decades, and many on here drive cars that my Grandad had a hand in their construction.

I hope you enjoy your Supersport, and would be great to see some pictures when you pick it up, be personally, I'd happy to be spared any arty waflle

Lots of discussion and one of the comments that has stuck with me is that this is the replacement for the aero, if it is then it's an oportunity lost. For background I owned a series 2, 4 and currently own a series 5. I've also owned 3 trads 2 of which are sitll in my garage and can regualrly been seen racing on track, as well as also having owned a 3 wheeler.

So I'm committed to the brand. But I'm lost if this is the aero replacement.

This is what we started with

[Linked Image]

We then progressed to this

Which has now been replaced with this

Somehow we seem to have gone backwards in terms of design.

Mechanically the car maybe the best handling car Morgan has produced but personnally I think the design is a step backwards rather than forwards. I would have loved for Morgan to have produced a car that would have got me to consider selling my Aero but this isnt it. I'd hoped we would have been seeing something more akin to the EVA GT or an evolution on the series 5 aero to truely differientiate the top of the range car from those lower down.

I hope the design works for them but please bring back the aero.

Sorry about the size of the images they were all I could find on the web.

Of course Spencer should stay here. He has rightly been highly praised for this video and his fantastic photos. But he should also be able to withstand some criticism.

Personally, I wouldn't have swapped this Plus Four, which fits wonderfully into this landscape in this fantastic green, for a Supersport.

goodness me, people like to jump to conclusions..... that wasn't a 'them and us' post, it's about demographics and target markets.

There wasn't any talk of negativity toward Morgan by anyone that I've seen in the thread; I only noted that some of us are no longer the target market for new cars and we need to appreciate the balance in the range.

I do like the idea of being 'youth' though, I'll tell my grandchildren (I did just tell my partner, and she laughed).

please check out my video's, you'll note that 'arty waffle' is not my thing..... also slightly jealous of your 1990 ZX10 btw.

Well, we all get older and have or had our time. Perhaps I have made a small contribution to the company's well-being with 5 new and sometimes more expensive Morgan in 20 years. Tomorrow I will be 66 and fortunately I still feel very comfortable and agile, I still enjoy working two thirds of the time in my business as a depth psychology market researcher, as long as my customers appreciate the work of my team and me. The same applies to this forum. Even though I've had ‘my time’ as a high spending Morgan driver and can no longer spend an estimated €150,000 plus in Germany on a new ‘Supersport’, or want to because I need to secure my pension, I'm very pleased to still be part of this community. I am also happy for every Morgan enthusiast of any age to be able to afford everything he or she wants. Everyone has their personal scope and their personal limits. And mutual respect for these margins and limits is what makes being together as members possible and truly enjoyable. Without envy and without false pride.
I think what matters here in the forum is the exchange of experiences with the Morgan and mutual help with technical problems etc. I don't want to be reduced to my potential purchasing power for a brand new Morgan Supersport, wanting or having to buy it to be accepted here. And I don't think that's perhaps what you meant either, Julian.

BTW I'm very excited about your choice of equipment, colour etc and I'll be happy for you when your new Supersport arrives. I mean that quite seriously and not ironically. After all, you are fairly right, we all have or have had our time, yours is now, and it is good, for you and for MMC.
