I'm in no way in any position to neither grant nor deny them "an opportunity to flourish".
Accusing a new venture of "amateurish behaviour and dishonesty" on an open public forum, populated by their main target market smacks of "denying them an opportunity to flourish" IMHO. Ah, yes, if one doesn't support anything and any behaviour it's denying someone their rights. I guess I deny Apple the rights to make money whenever I bitchslap their inferiour products or sub par after-sales "service" and sub par handling of warranty claims. Or, let's say someone thinks that we'd be the best market to spam with some shitty watches or something else - then one should keep their mouth shut in that case too. Seriously, if people in their marketing segment only should give them positive remarks, what the hell point is there to any discussion, or anything posted on here? Morgan make feckups too, and they should rightfully get more than apologist comments on things like that. I realise that some people think that only positive feedback is great and that negative feedback should be kept to oneself. Anyhow, I've said my piece so time to move on. Yes, and I hope I have made my position so clear I can move on too.

I realise that some people think that only positive feedback is great and that negative feedback should be kept to oneself. You really are prolonging this aren't you? How does accusing someone of being dishonest correlate with not supporting them? Give an opinion by all means, but measure your response according to the facts in hand. And please stop whingeing about only giving positive remarks; nobody and I repeat nobody, is saying that. Many people have expressed unsupportive opinions and questioned the new publication; but only one person has incurred the wrath of at least three others with the way he has conducted himself and by littering his protestations with profanities. Maybe that gives you some indication?

Not at all. I'm just not naive enough to fall for the rhetorical trick where you pretend to have an entitlement to some sort of "last word" merely because you write you're "done with xxx" or similar. How does accusing someone of being dishonest correlate with not supporting them? I'm not accusing anyone. I am stating flat out that they seem dishonest since they choose to ignore the fact that several people was before others, yet they didn't receive the offer the latter come'rs did. That's dishonest in my book. It would just be dumb luck if it was an error, but to ignore it. That's dishonesty. You are one of the people trying to argue that one shouldn't be harsh to someone whose core market segment is people on here, and especially not an upstart. And since that is all you, it should be quite easy for you to see why I wrote that you want people to only be positive towards this (or other) upstarts. If you can't see the problem in that attitude and how it invites positive-only remarks and people being taken in, it's your loss. Give an opinion by all means, but measure your response according to the facts in hand. I did, and I do. Unlike you, I don't make up apologist argumentation because the company in question targets us and that the product is about another product we love. And please stop whingeing about only giving positive remarks; nobody and I repeat nobody, is saying that. Perhaps you should reread the posts. First of all, I'm not whingeing. Secondly, if you cannot see that if we were to follow your argumentation and "advice", that is all we would be left with, then - again - that is your loss. Many people have expressed unsupportive opinions and questioned the new publication; but only one person has incurred the wrath of at least three others with the way he has conducted himself and by littering his protestations with profanities. Maybe that gives you some indication? It gives me the indication that some of you are way holier than thou when you whine about me using "profanities", when you think you get to dictate just how I wrap my arguments, and it gives me an indication of just how entrenched you are when you can't see an argument when it's staring you in the face, but have to resort to attacking the style: I mean, when all else fails, why not use an argument of popularity and claim that because you and two others doesn't like the way I present my arguments, therefore I must be wrong. Yup, that's the indication I'm getting.

AQM, when you are in a hole it sometimes pays to stop digging. Clearly the majority of people posting want to postpone judgement on this venture until a magazine is published. Please therefore stop trying to bulldoze your views on the subject. Perhaps you should spend some time collecting some of the toys you have thrown out of your pram and by then we might have a magazine published which we can then objectively judge!!!!!

If you can't see the problem in that attitude and how it invites positive-only remarks and people being taken in, it's your loss. Your words are somewhat contradictory? And in fact incorrect, as I seem to recall that Mogmag offered to look into one of the more obvious discrepancies. However, this isn't about the specifics of whether Mogmag are good or evil (please don't quote this, it's a figure of speech!) it's about what we here (and of course I speak for myself, but I do have a good understanding of the type of forum visitors here like) feel is somewhat vitriolic with no real proof as such. We generally prefer the live and let live ideology but also welcome good healthy debate and even criticism, but draw the line at unproven accusations. You also misquote me, which I abhor. I did not state that "that one shouldn't be harsh to someone whose core market segment is people on here, and especially not an upstart." I said that by calling someone dishonest and amateurish in front of their core market is "not allowing them to flourish" (cant remember the exact words, can't be bothered to go back and look). So if you're going to keep arguing, please get your facts right! Give an opinion by all means, but measure your response according to the facts in hand. I did, and I do. Unlike you, I don't make up apologist argumentation because the company in question targets us and that the product is about another product we love. Maybe you generally do, but you didn't IMHO. Oh and thanks for your insight into my argument. I must say, either I really am not making myself clear or you really are finding it hard to follow a simple point? And please stop whingeing about only giving positive remarks; nobody and I repeat nobody, is saying that. Perhaps you should reread the posts. First of all, I'm not whingeing. Secondly, if you cannot see that if we were to follow your argumentation and "advice", that is all we would be left with, then - again - that is your loss. I can't be bothered to re-read all the posts, I have a reasonable take on this now. You are definitely whingeing however. At least that's how it comes across to me. I never claimed you're "wrong" I claimed you had no proof of what you are accusing, and that you were out of order for using the words and the vitriol that you did. I claimed that nobody else was as unfair in their criticism and that's why no-one else has been 'called up' for objecting. And as for the 'holier than thou' attitude, why accuse "some" of us? I'm the only one who brought up the profanities? And I can swear like a trooper, I work on building sites after all. I always feel however that if someone has to resort to profanities on an Internet forum then they are losing a lot of weight to their argument. I guess I must have a better command of the English language (oops is that 'holier than thou'?) You really are prolonging this aren't you?
Not at all. I'm just not naive enough to fall for the rhetorical trick where you pretend to have an entitlement to some sort of "last word" merely because you write you're "done with xxx" or similar. How immature of you to think that? I would say that please feel free to have the last word, but I do reserve the right to post again, should the feeling take me.
Cheers

I really wish that I could come up with some wise posting to bring an end to this.
No doubt we all have our own opinions of the mag, mine is that it has been handled poorly up to now: (for example the continuation of missing out the 60-65 age group even though it was mentioned lots of times on here). I therefore do agree with the claim of unprofessional.
So far as dishonesty is concerned, based on everything else I'm more inclined to believe that if the timings are as some people have posted its more likely a cock up (if I can say that) rather than dishonesty
Some have decided to support the venture and some to hang fire. I shall hang fire, but have no doubt that I will be in WHS on March 7 to buy a copy!
Despite the poor start I sincerely wish them well. I love my Morgans, I enjoy this forum and anything else that promotes/informs the marque.
How about we let this be the last post?

Thought about it a little more and I please to announce the launch of a new magazine, that will be full of factual information, based upon the hacking of TM and MMC telephones.
I'm thinking of calling it
News Of the Morgan World
Kind of catchy I think.

The grocers' apostrophe doesn't bode well. Ah the joys of automatic spelling correction. I'm learning to be very careful with my new smart phone (and no, it is not the one with the bite (or should that be byte) missing). Personally I can't live without a spell checker. I must have some strange form of dyslexia that means I can't remember how something should be spelt. A MOG Subscription will also be given free of charge to everybody who buys a new Morgan both 3 and 4 wheeler with the compliments of the factory. Since I have both won a subscription plus picking up a new car next month does that mean I get two subscriptions?
