The rubber bumper MGB has chassis extensions which look almost the same as those letterboxes, with the bumper removed. I hadn't noticed them before, so colour makes a difference.

The front 3/4 shot above does make me think of hamster pouches. It's just a bit fat faced. I like it visually overall, but I understand the disappointment that it's no way an Aero replacement.

The Max in particular had the WOW factor from every angle and the interior was bang on. This one splits opinion.

Thought in one of the videos it mentioned that they were there to improve impacts/crash resistance?

I'm finding it difficult to see how the design team have taken such
an eye pleasing car as the Morgan, and made it look like a kit car
copy. I was hoping they would release something that would help
me spend the kids inheritance but they can stay calm for now.

May people complain about the length of the car and difficulties to oversee the whole car. I was wondering why MMC did not choose to offer parking sensors front and rear, because now, they have the opportunity to place them almost invisible! Maybe an idea for an option in the near future? The recent CX generation already lacks overriders and bumpers, so expensive damage is easily made! Better to prevent.

I agree with you Ruut at this costing. With four gaping silver apertures doh
I did soon get used to it in my 4/4 Sport for 24,000 mls and then one day the handbrake cable rusted through and the rear of the car nerfed into the neighbours Merc. He was really good and I polished it out for him. The plastic number plate holder on the Sport was soon fixed at home.

I normally always leave any car in gear when leaving it - the cable failed at the year mark.

I hope it is ok to chime in even though I am Mog-less

I was invited to the preview events at the factory and was keen to go but upon asking the price, which at the time I was told 'north of £100k, I couldn't stomach it if I'm honest. While I wasn't given a lot of details, I was told it would have a boot, next level of comfort, sleeker design and as mentioned in many of the press video's, a competitor to the fabled 911.

The timing was ironic as I was in the final stages of deciding if I was going to pull the trigger on a new Porsche 718 or go with a slightly used 911. The idea of ordering a 911 was tempting and something I was contemplating. You could say I would be the demographic of the Super Sports.

For the design itself, I absolutely love everything about it and the subtle detail changes to the interior. It's not a massive leap from the Plus Four/Six but lovely changes nonetheless. I especially love the veneer panels on the doors.

Having pulled the trigger on a new Porsche 718, I did find myself wondering if I should have gone to the preview event and would I be regretting not leaving the door open for a new Morgan instead. It goes without saying that my love for the brand, its history and all that goes with it is there is spades, so it was with trepidation when I decided to watch the unveiling. The min I saw it I fell in love and a wee bit of regret set in.

However, after playing on the configurator and thinking it through, I climbed down from the nostalgia of my former Morgan and came back to my senses. For me it fully came down to the price. Spec'd to how I'd want it puts me well into a brand new 911 T cabriolet, which has a proper manual and respectfully, I seriously can't see how the SS would even compare. Had this been closer to a 718 S/GTS price point, perhaps. I suspect this will cater to someone who has a collection of cars or a true dyed in the wool Morgan fanatic. I am certain they will sell well and a fantastic step forward for MMC in opening the doors to a wider fan base.

A massive congratulations to MMC and to those who have ordered on who will in turn make my day a better one should I see one on the road.

I'm not a massive fan of the new design. The front end plastic "rectangles" don't integrate with the rest of the frontal design and the rear end falls away too much, giving the car an unbalanced appearance front to rear. This is all subjective of course and the car may well look better in the flesh.

Given that Morgan are aiming at a new demographic, I feel that the absence of opening door windows is a mistake. Will buyers, new to the brand, really see fixed side screens, as a bonus ? I doubt it.

I let it sink in, will judge when I see it at the dealer, hope to drive one before summer

but I like it
though, strangely it doesn't awake my 'Morgan-desire' like my LM62 does

By that I mean I love the SuperSports, like I loved my Aeromax. But neither makes me feel 'Morgan-happy' like my 3whlr or now the PlusFour does.
Therefor, when I'll order my Supersports it will replace a German in the garage, not the LM62; that will have to stay. I had to accept I always 'needed' a Morgan in the household...
What the SuperSports misses in 'auro' compared to the Aeromax which had it in overloads, it will get back with the driving. Not very hard to drive better than those Aero's which always felt awkward when driven hard
