Not so sure, the mechanicals on the new +8 are well developed from the aero series, its only the bodywork that's substantially changing.

Unlike the 3 wheeler which was a ground up job, with plenty of R&D and development needed.

I wouldn't have thought MMC would have be brave enough to pass the car onto a motoring journo if they didn't feel it was ready. Contrast this in that it was some time after the launch of the 3 wheeler before anyone from the motoring press got anywhere near the 3 wheeler.

Only time will tell.

Latest write-up on PH by Chris Harris - it seems he likes it a lot as he ends the write-up comparing it with the MP4-12 thus: "But in the single discipline of charm, like everything else I've driven over the past six months, it has to defer to the car from Malvern."

Brian, being the recidivist I am, I've really hung fire on the new +8 and my initial tought was that it was a bit of a 'bin- clearer' albeit a very nice one but I have to say from what I've seen so far, I'm really impressed. ( Must be the medication) oldgit

regards
G

Ps I'd still like to see how they cope with the engine management interface units. I do hope they've moved on from twenty amp fuses and lots of silicone

Hi G,
What can I say other than please keep taking the tablets! hide Seriously though I think it is quite a car and the response from people who have driven it is mainly very positive. This latest write-up from Chris Harris really confirms this, though I was surprised that he felt that the suspension is too stiff. Certainly compared to some of the other cars that we own, I think that the ride really is very acceptable as is and the handling is sharp rather than nervous. However, there is no doubt Chris' opinion is more valid, as he is a very experienced driver and tester of cars.

Apart from that I really can't take issue with anything else that he says and I look forward to hearing your own impressions when you get to drive one.

Cheers
Brian

The engines will also be used in the Aero SS, so in production terms, if true, 450 isn't remarkable either way. It will presumably take them up to EVA production?

And this LHD one is lurking in the despatch area at the factory.....I wonder if going to Geneva?

Just realised...its probably the same car as in the previous photo! Interesting...LHD but with RHD pattern wipers.

P.S. the Aero Coupe is in the background.
