We have this thread here so there must be some interest.... ? innocent

I think the Morgan aspect has piqued the interest of some. As I said before, I won't be watching as I'd probably lose what little respect I have for the bloke.

He definitely says "the wheel came off" in the documentary just before a photo is shown post crash with all 3 wheels still on the car. Odd.

“the” wheel came off seems singular not “a” wheel came off, which one might say if one of 3 came off so could it be the steering wheel that came off?
I’m probably wrong but it’s a possibility?

I was told by a source in the industry that the car was being reversed at speed doing J turns. Also that this wasn’t asked for by the producers and it was in ‘free time’. The reality is we will probably never know - unless someone has footage that gets released.

If there was film crew footage (unlikely if it was in free time without cameras rolling) then HSE would have access to it; possibly in the public interest if it was a fault of the car and not the driver. Given Morgan are still allowed to sell them, I would hazard a guess that it’s unlikely a problem with the car.

There had previously been a few significant ‘stunts’ on both TG and TGT that I thought were pushing the boundaries of safety, I personally feel it was only a matter of time before something bad happened in order to make good TV….

^ Owning a MTW, I would never reverse at speed and as for a J turn...that's an almost guaranteed roll over doh

One would think that if any sort of wheel came off, then MMC would be impacted, however it mustn't be forgotten that when the first M3W was tested in around 2011, by journalists on an airfield circuit, it managed to break a front wishbone at relatively high speed, although with, as far as I am aware, no injuries, but just think what could have happened.......... Additionally, they had chassis breakage problems, steering problems and on at least one notable occasion, the drive train locking up on a fast main road, leaving a long black skid mark. None of that seems to have impacted MMC and they sold quite a few thousand.
