If you're going to the trouble of fitting alternate bonnet stays best to make them captive both ends. This avoids a sudden gust slamming the bonnet down.

Home made ones here using quick release ball and socket at the top end.

Just looking at the first photo, I was a bit concerned at the position of the hand brake. It looks like it has virtually used up its full travel. I cant be sure though due to the leather gaiter and ruckling of the leather.
With the handbrake fully on, I like to be able to at least get a finger in the spare space in the part of the slot thats unused. It then provides a margin to allow for cable stretch and gives the reassurance that the brakes are always fully applied rather than the lever giving it the appearance to be so. (if you see what I mean)
Cable stretch can easily be adjusted from under the tool tray shelf. It doesn’t want to be too tight of course otherwise the brakes will be binding, so best done with the rear off the ground so the wheels can be spun to check.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Guys, like your stays Richard but not planning to use them outside my garage and what you say about my handbrake Doug is understood. There is a small amount of reserve travel which I have set on the adjuster following my rear brake cylinder inspection. Thank-you, Keith
