So, I've been toiling in my garden, as well as that of an elderly neighbours, for a large part of the day and, after finding the energy to have a shower, I am now officially tired!

It was far warmer than I expected and I feel like I've earned a nice drink.

This brings me to my question: what is your favourite tipple?

I'm currently debating between a margarita on the rocks, mezcal with grapefruit juice and ginger beer or a simple IPA lager. Any of which will probably put me to sleep! (lightweight!) laugh2

So, over to you... cheers

Depending on the circumstances, on holiday for example it would be a Mojito. At home however it would be a red wine or vodka n tonic. I'm also partial to a good malt but only if I'm having one or two, any more makes me very ill. Another lightweight I'm afraid 🥴

When it's hot, a Weisser, on lazy Sunday evenings a Mojito, when you don't want too much alcohol, why not a Grüner Veltliner in the Spring and Summer, at meals, many reds will do, I often look at the direction of Italy, but there's much.Never was a fan of the Pinot Noir, but once my local wineshop presented me a New Zealand Pinot Noir from Mount Difficulty, delicious. And after that, a good sleep! wine

I avoid during the day. Even Champagne puts me to sleep in the day.

Evenings, always wine, and sometimes a G&T, and very occasionally a Whisky on the rocks.

There is wine and wine, and the trick is finding ones you like, for whichever the occasion. Tonight with the roast we start with a chilled Gewurztraminer, (always from Alsace, although from Alto Adige works), and then a C-D-P Rhone red.

Preference is for strong, still Cider, or Bourbon and Coke,

However will aslo drink Rum, Guiness,Fizzy Cider and Euro Lager (Becks, Peroni etc) on occasions.

Don't like Malts or GIn.

Will drink wine if offered but wouldn't buy.

Pretty much any cask-conditioned bitter, or any single malt, ideally something from Speyside but Old Pulteney and Bunnahabhain are always welcome.

Thatcher’s do a good alcohol-free cider which I find a very nice thirst-quencher.

Well my day started at 7.30am with a bit of gardening, then outside decorating as the weather was nice in London followed by some hours of death cleaning…….I also found some Morgan memorabilia including brochures, badges and a metal Morgan buckled belt. And no it did not go round my waist anymore..I also found 2 new unused aero screens for the car.

My wife has enjoyed cooking a home made pizza tonight, served with her everyday wine, £5 from Tesco’s (been drinking it for a couple of years ( gone up from £4.25 over time but strangely recommended today in The Sunday Times) and a well earned ABV 6% cider for me.
I like most drinks, sherry, port, wine red and white, fizz, all spirits. I like virtually all drinks but not Baileys although liked that in a Baby Guinness ! Often it can be influenced by where you are, National drinks can influence.. I love various euro schnapps in the winter months whilst watching Ski Flying or winter sports generally. Hated eggnog Advocaat back in the day but love Bombardino due to the addition of Brandy. Found Pisco sour in Chile some years back and that makes a refreshing summer drink.
Gosh so much to enjoy, so little time but can go alcohol free for a week or so sometimes..

Cheers to all MM, thankfully not AA ….
PS Simon you mention ginger beer and some of us will remember parents carefully tending ginger beer plants and splitting them for friends …….like sourdough.(?)
Try Bundaberg my fav ginger beer, vodka and Limoncello, makes a great Moscow (f**k**s) Mule - MM my signature cocktail.at my daughters summer festival wedding
