It has been a sad day for Motor sport with the death of co driver Dai Roberts on Jim Clark Rally.
Also Julian Grimwade historic racer and one of the founders of Brooklands Membership.

Indeed. I think we are planning a minute's silence at some stage during Prescott's proceedings today.

Because F1 has become virtually bomb-proof we can forget that in other disciplines the "Motorsport Can Be Dangerous' printed on the programme still means something. These things shock and unite the motorsport community. RIP lads.

Indeed. I think we are planning a minute's silence at some stage during Prescott's proceedings today. For those of us who went to Montlhéry ,with Vinmog, and watched Julian in his Riley engined Fraser-Nash chasing a 35B around the top of the banking. These are brave and skilled racers. RIP Julian Bud 4/4-Stanley.

There are probably no words to describe what the Roberts family is going through at this very sad time.
Dai's brother Gareth 'Jaffa' Roberts was killed in a rally accident in Scilily in 2012 whilst co-driving for Craig Breen.
To bury a child once is hard, but twice??
Dai was a great character in both road and stage rallying. A real nice, polite lad. Top ten road rally navigator but did not have the ego issue. Just dropped in your time control, did not argue about his time. Happy to share his experiences and encourage young navigators and marshals alike.
He came up to do one of the North Wales events that I was helping to organise, either a Rali Bryniau or a Rali Gogledd but he failed scrutineering on a faulty brake light switch. So I popped home and gave him one of my spare ones. He never forgot that!!
He will be sadly missed.
