It would appear fabulous to get as many Texas Three Wheeler Maniacs together in the Fall for a tour around the Hill Country. Wine, Wimmin', 3-Wheelers, and Willie seems like an appropriate theme. Best,
Tom I agree! The Texas 3 wheelers all need to get together for a tour. Possibly the Twisted Sisters or something similar.

Spent the morning with Dennis Glavis , there could not be a better ambassador for the brand here. I am taking home a nice wooden Mota Lita wheel, Super 3 to follow. He had some collection, new, old and vintage. I will post some photos when I get back to a real computer tomorrow. Had a blast, literally and figuatively.

Over the years, I've heard a lot of positives regarding Dennis, so it is great to hear that you're trip out West had a good resolution. When you mentioned heading out in that direction, I assumed it was to visit with him; having looked at his stock, and based on your previous vehicles (specifically the photos you posted and the colours of the cars), I wondered which of the Morgans would 'speak to you'. So, I'm looking forward to seeing which one you chose! I know Texas is a large state; however, there seems to be a decent amount of owners within it. Therefore, I'm sure you'll have the pleasure of meeting up with some other owners. Seeing a group of Morgans in England always creates a positive reaction and I'm sure in the US, that will only be amplified. Congrats on finding the right Morgan for you and I'll enjoy seeing the impending updates!

IMG_0867 by William Hart, on Flickr IMG_0866 by William Hart, on Flickr I am going to add a beeline moto II, a tonneau and a usb port- perhaps one encased in billet since this car doesn't have the heater option. I also plan on adding the storage compartment- there is a knockout and bolt holes so no heavy duty work to get that installed. Then I plan on "motoring." Dennis' place is chock full of goodies, it is partly sales of lots of vehicles (at least those allowed in the US), some older cars, including a nice super sport and some other older Morgans and some real antiques. I'll ask him for permission to post some of those.

Cheers Bill - thanks for sharing - a beast indeed! Looks like Morgan Sport Grey but I may be mistaken. In the first photo, I thought it was black but it was just the lighting (or my eyes!)
As a first time Super 3 driver, what were your thoughts? Obviously positive because you bought one! However, would love to hear what you thought of the experience.

Simon- I have a thing about driving other people's cars- I let Dennis take me out and he piloted. There are no twisties in Santa Monica but he did some hard cornering and then ramped up onto the freeway and let it loose. I know this is not a stoplight dragster, but was somewhat surprised at its "giddyup," as they say in Texas. While wearing a helmet it did not have a face bubble, and I was cold! (It was about 70 degrees in LA). I'm going to order a Hedon open face helmet with brim and face bubble and have lined up a driving instructor who has access to the tracks here-- not for learning track driving (I've done some of that in Ferraris, those little Formula Jr.type cars that Skip Barber ran and the Porsche CGT, among others). I want to learn the dynamics, get a sense of the limits (the vehicle and my own --the latter no doubt considerable)-- and get back into heel and toeing. My plan is to take it easy on the roads here. I expect delivery in a couple weeks. My original plan was to drive it back from LA taking state roads, not the interstate, but I concluded it was too grueling, especially given the heat here in the southwest. (Austin is typically over 100F now and will be for the next several months so I don't expect to need to the heater). If I do, I can add it, along with the seat heating pads.

Bill, me too, I was buying privately and could well judge just how much care and attention Kevin, had put into what was to become my Morgan, that when offered to drive it I declined, and he took me, then my good lady out for a short run in it..... no bargaining required, I was hooked....Good move re trying it out on track with an instructor.. Hope your Morgan might provide as many years of enjoyment. From that which I have recently read, if you intend wearing a helmet, it might be worth finding the lightest weight yet strong helmet you can find...
Good luck in your choices..

I still find heel n toeing a challenge but also have big feet.

Bill That looks a cracking 3 wheeler. I'm sure you going to have lots of fun. But what is that magazine under the steering wheel? MOG? With the new Supersport on the cover. I thought that magazine went out of business a few years back.
