That said the Helen is really protection against flying stuff rather than impact - hence the lightness being key

HANS requires a 4 or 5 point harness which isn't practical in a M3W.

I am 6'4" in a M3W and use a Hedon Hedonist 3/4 helmet with either a pull down face shield (great for flipping up to answer questions at stop lights) or the more traditional bubble face shield. The Hedon has a great classic look, is light, stylish and safe.

For rain gear, I keep a pair of lightweight motorcycle rain jacket and pants in the boot. Great in a pinch, but I've also been soaked a couple of times as well. Enjoy the experience, I love it all! smile

@craigL- does the Hedon bubble leave room for a fairly large pair of eyeglasses? I have these big old black plastic frames that look like something from the '50s that the British National Health service provided. They interfere with my Schuberth hybrid so I wear a different, lighter, smaller frame. The Hedon folks have been pretty good about responding to my questions on a certain design, with brim and bubble. Which raises another question- can you use the brim and face bubble at the same time, or do the snaps on the helmet serve for both, thus necessitating using either the brim or the bubble? TIA.

Bill, I will do some trials this weekend. I have some vintage style Mk49 style goggles. I'll try those with the bubble face shield as well. Normally I wear some somewhat bulky Bose sunglasses (my M3W car stereo on trips). I wear the goggles without the face shield, normally with my half helmet, but I'll try both with the bubble.

I've ordered a Hedon with a bubble shield...and will investigate a non-Hans neck protector at my local motorbike store.
Thanks for all of the advice...hopefully finalising my pre-owned Super 3 purchase next week and collecting it mid-June - pictures to follow in due course...

Bill, I tried the Hedon with the bubble face shield and had no problems with whatever I put under that. From my big bulky rimmed sunglasses, to my Mk49 goggles. Everything fit under the face plate with plenty of room to spare.

Hedon snap on accessories are one item per use. All the accessory button tops are finished with the Hedon logo, so no snap options on them. You can't use the bubble face shield with the visor. However, the visor with some good goggles would make a nice pairing, so definitely something I would try.

I do have a cheap third party flip up face shield I picked up at a local motor cycle supply shop that works well as well. However, for the classic look, you can go Hedon all the way.

I look forward to seeing the new ride and welcome to the community!
