And we talk and often complain about the exploits of the irresponsible younger generation today. We were far worse in our day. I used to go on a weekly pub crawl with 4 mates every Friday and Saturday packed into an Ford Anglia. We regularly bought at least 2 rounds each, so at least 10 pints each and always driven back by Mike who loved his beer and often had up to 14 pints a night at the weekend and still drove. Well one Xmas day after a really heavy session on Xmas eve he got pulled over on the way to the pub for a Xmas pint or 2, having not drunk anything that day. Needless to say he failed the breathalyser many times over the limit even though he hadn't drunk a drop for over 18 hours....those were the days.

So as a 56 y/o Gen Xer in the U.S. who's on his second Morgan (First was a new M3W, second is a 1965 +4), I can safely say that the entire *affordable* (MG, Triumph, Austin Healey, etc.) British car market in the U.S. is in steep decline. +4's are on this pathway as well, and I think "Driver" quality trad +4's will probably stabilize in the $20-25k (USD) range in the future. Truth is, most of the Morgan's in the U.S. are pretty tatty, and as it doesn't make financial sense to restore them, the problem will only get worse with time. A particular problem in the +4 is the tight cockpit and seating position, which feels VERY odd to modern drivers (and fat Americans ). Morgan is now on a quest, with the help of private equity, to take their product upmarket, especially in Europe. Their target demographic includes virtually nobody who frequents this forum at TM. Instead, the target is the person who already has a Porsche, Mercedes and a Range Rover in the garage and wants a new toy - and who can afford to drop $100k (USD) on an impulse purchase...witness the plethora of new limited edition bespoke limited run models and concepts with eye watering prices. With that said...I do like the new Supersport. The rear end treatment seems a touch awkward, but I like the rest of the car a lot... Morgan has their work cut out for them and I wish them well. One bright spot in the U.S. is that Morgan Motors of New England, who also run Morgan Spares (the only legit and knowledgeable source for Morgan Parts in the U.S.), a family business run by "Linda and Larry" are now approved to take orders on the new Plus Four! This is a very old school operation by a couple who really know Morgan's. If I ever decide to buy a new Plus Four (which I may) I'm buying it from Linda and Larry!

It's unusual to put an estimate on a car sold with no reserve. Irrespective of that, it looks a real bargain for someone. Even in the current depressed market that's a low sale price.

Such a beautiful car for 12K... Simply unbelievable, but wonderful for true enthusiasts who would otherwise never have been able to afford it. What a crazy world.

'As a recent Trad buyer in Europe (Sweden) who did a fair bit of research on the European (mostly French/German/Belgian/Dutch and, of course, Swedish) market pre-purchase I can confirm that trad prices are actually quite robust "over here". I don't know what the supply/demand factors are that are driving prices significantly higher (esp. for LHD cars) on the continent than in Blighty, but it seems to be a thing. Maybe young European hipsters are clueing into the analog, craft quality of Morgans coupled with modern drive train -- or maybe we're just in the calm before the storm!

I really like the thought that the young hipsters have discovered the analogue craft 'quality' of trads........😁 Trads will continue to be popular, I'm sure of it....!!!!! Best buy another one while prices are low and sit on it for the investment potential............................👍🏼😆

Adam that is very interesting to read and more what I would expect to be seeing here on the Island. I believe we are seeing the bottom fall out of the market here on Classic Cars for two reasons really, everyone that is weak willed / blackmailed is getting seduced into the full EV as if there is no other options available and good luck to them when hydrogen steps in as the Real Messiah. The next major factor here is our reversion to a weak Labour Government who is already displaying their normal political traits with unemployment on the rise together with inflation and of course growth rate is abysmal, confidence in a Governments abilities is a huge factor I think, just my personal look at things. We went out and bought a 4/4 Sport for our Son to dispose of some capital lest the present coven purloin it through slippery tax laws.
