That lot has certainly been lacking a bit of love, but it all looks like standard stuff. I'd start at the back, dissamble the whole lot and rebuild with stainless components wherever possible. As Sewin says, there are plenty of exhaust specialists out there. If it was me, I'd go to Merlin Motorsport because they are quite close and do a huge range of bits. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/...ts/2-inch-diameter/stainless-steel-parts

I have used these boys and their work is top notch (not cheap and geezery) they do a lot of race and rally stuff too. If you don't have a drawing they will sort it no problem just drop the car off with them for the day.

Crikey…not often you see one as bad as that, and for 2017, where has it been? Looks like some new rubber bobbins are required too. I would follow Tim H’s sage advice.

Wow, that's a bit crusty, does it live next to the sea ? Who's been doing the MOT's, nackered U bolts I would say should have been an advisory, and a detached bobbin is a fail

Yep! I think all the above says it quite well! I too have never seen a failure like that, 2017 should have a full stainless system. I'm thinking its had an incident with the ground at some point and an old system has been shoved on. Frankly I'm astonished, I really cannot believe that system was from 2017, Where are the lambda sensors? Ignition on but not running is there a check engine light on, if so does it go out on start up? There's just something not right here. I've never even seen an old running mog with something as bad as that! Where did the car come from, A little investigation required here I think.

Graeme, However you choose to go you need a new system, That's just so much scrap and there's no point trying to graft on new parts to rubbish. My 2010 plus 4 exhaust looks like new and yours is a relative baby in comparison. What's the manifold and cat like and the heat shield through the chassis looks like an old christmas cracker. If your handy with the spanners get a quote from Merlin or check out a Librands sports exhaust.

If you look carefully and closely at the 4th photo, it looks like a lambda sensor take-off on the inside of the curved pipe. The 1st picture also shows a couple of wires going through a hole in the chassis, so I think it’s all there but not easy to see.

Yep Deejay, just looked at the schematics and the downstream lambda sensor is facing inwards so does look like the wire into the loom is for that.
Graeme, if the manifold and cat are ok then I'd do as has been suggested earlier and strip from the back. Don't even try and undo those clamps just grind them off. When you have all the bits laid out then you can make a proper assessment and take it from there. Bobbins and clamps are much cheaper from the mg owners club, buy re the pipe size. If the pipes are salvageable then I would first try an exhaust specialist to see if he can replicate a replacement flexi for you, if not then probably easier to pay MMC dealer for a replacement part, Yes they'll be wearing a mask but hey, might save you lots of grief in the end, /if its all to far gone a librands stainless cat back system is about £600 ish. Get some exhaust assembly paste, good quality from Euro car parts at roughly £8.00 a tube. The L brackets and mounting plates are usually ok but can be ordered individually or as kits with clamps. Good luck with the job and know you're doing the right thing for the car!
Oh! had to add here Get yourself a proper o2 sensor removal tool, Ebay about £12.00, don't need an expensive one for limited use but it will help if you need to remove them.

Thanks Guys for all your help and advise ,Going to put a Librands Sports exhaust and SS Brackets on it.The cat and manifold is ok and i will get the Lambda sensors checked but there is no EML on the dash when driving The car came from the Morgan factory in 2018 and i have not touched it the exhaust and full service history with the factory, I do use the car all year round and its does around 3000-4000 per year Librands have it all in stock and I will update when finished Thanks again for all your help
