He doesn't mention the Cat N issue in the Miscellany ad; naughty. Why would an insurance company write off a new car for simple structural damage? I believe that at least part of the answer lies in the expected repair time. If it's going to be got take many weeks to repair a car, the hire costs of a replacement vehicle can quickly make an apparently minor repair uneconomic. I'm guessing that maybe as the car was damaged very early on in its life, it was at a time when MMC had no capacity to offer repairs and no dealers could do it either? So the insurance company banged a Cat N on it so they could settle quickly?

Different kettle of fish if its got a cat registered. Even if it was a superficial ding that cat will follow the car for the rest of its life makes me feel a lot better regarding the price now.

You should see with the dealer if they accept to repair the paint and the pilar. If the car is 6 years old i dont think the factory will do something.

Presumably if the factory would do it under warranty why would the current owner not have had it done to avoid any need to discount. Assuming you have to pay for it it shouldn't be THAT expensive and you could look to get a discount off the offer price. Good luck!

Also looking to move up to a Plus Six from a 3.7 Roadster . Prices seem to be circa £60k + however there are two 2019 launch models with recalls done at £56890 . The private one (Cat N) was featured some years ago in Miscellany where the owner rebuilt it for circa £50k , I agree that should be more like £40-£45k if you can live with a Cat N title. If leaking radiators are going to be covered by the factory with a new design then it makes an upgrade to a Plus six more attractive to me. What do you say Em should I take the plunge ?

I believe the £56,890 blue car can be 'chipped' further.....Plus Six for £55K....sounds good to me!

I’ve enquired about a plus six today. A nearly new one with very low miles. It’s not at a Morgan dealer and the dealer have really struggled to get finance proposal (I usually buy outright but have been warned by a former Morgan dealership to only buy through PCP to limit my exposure- they actually advised not to buy one because the residuals are crashing). The dealer managed to get a quote through Morgan finance but the residual is just over £30k on a 48month agreement - the car new was £118k and it’s only done 200miles!
That’s shocking and tbh I’m gutted as I really like the look of this particular car; but that’s too much of a loss.
