Ooooh that is interesting, looking to update my GTN one at some point and have been mulling over a few options.

I have to say that new BP London does look like a good option, if it had been around when I was making the change it would have been on the list.

I don't think my choice represents most peoples.
I am moving on monday and the two screens just loaded onto the lorry are 82" 8K resolution panels.
Not normal but hey when was an Aero a mainstream choice. (always a good one though)
I will share so you can see the more extreme nerds choice.

I live on iOS for all manner of stuff.
Waze, Whatscrap (it reads them to me), Music, others.
I use Siri and dictation a lot, it fights with the sidepipes but usually wins.
I found a screen magnet mount and even the 14 ProMax screen size not stable for driving safety.
You go to poke it to clear a message and it falls off the mount into the footwell.
Not a winner for me when we were using it to drive down to France/Italy on tour and I have the directional sense of a gerbil.

When I got the Coupe it had a simple factory Alpine unit.
Speakers (front) are limiting due to size and mount.
Speakers (rear) need additional amp and quality to stop bass drone. (replaced with posh Focal and soundstream)
For the head unit I went postal and installed a touchscreen Alpine which just fits.

If you are iOS centric then wait a little bit as the recent announcement (iOS26) means quite a lot of upgrade and change are coming. I would expect most of the ICE equipment shipping now will not have enough power to upgrade and support it.

I installed a Sony touchscreen and cabled Apple connection.
On long journeys with heavy use the battery on the iPhone would flatten so a cabled interface which charged it was preferred to bluetooth.
The screen is large on the dash but way more functional whilst driving, and legal as I understand it.
I still have access to the A/C, screen, start buttons clearly, I have to tweak slightly for the A.C./Fan knobs but can get them.

The unit is a single DIN so fits in the existing gap and has an LCD touch panel that floats in front of the dash.
Without taking my hand off the wheel I can tap to clear a message.
Whilst resting my hand on the auto gear stick I can enter things very easily and comfortably.
It has hard (real not touch) buttons for volume, mute and channel/next etc which is nicer.
I have angled it slightly down to reduce reflection but the roof on the Coupe also helps here.
Whilst it has a good power amp I have used an additional amp for the rear speakers as the larger size benefits from a good amp to improve control and sound quality.

Not pretty but way more effective, I expect I will remove it when the Coupe is sold, unless I can find another weirdo.

The BP London unit looks to be what everybody with a single DIN would want. What a clever design. I have a double DIN available as I had the Parrot in my Aero S5. I finally got the Parrot replaced a week or so ago. I was given a recommendation for an auto electrician/audio man by someone in the trade and was surprised to see that his workshop was only 1 mile from my house. I decided on the Sony XAV-4050 primarily because it is the only one which has a matt screen and claimed to be non-glare. It still suffers glare when the hood is down but that is because of the angle of fitment which Morgan decided upon.[Linked Image]
